The Fly Inn

Best fly trap I ordered more. I now have 4 of these and swear by them. They are so effective in our south facing windows in our living room and kitchen. Their discrete appearance makes them not an embarrassing eye sore. Suction cups to the window so super easy to put on and off. The replacement traps just fold and you place it into the inn. We catch soooo many flies, big ones little ones. But it isn’t a one day deal, you have to be patient but with patience you are extremely rewarded. I recommend them to everyone and will continue to swear by them.

It's crucial to have a reliable and efficient solution for managing fly infestations, and unfortunately, Dr. Killigan's The Fly Inn falls short in this regard. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product to others seeking an effective fly trap solution. While its appealing appearance and lack of obviousness may be appealing, its performance leaves much to be desired. I feed feral cats outside so the food attracts every fly in the neighborhood and those pesky flies always find a way into my house! I initially ordered this not realizing I was ordering just the refills and not the holder. I improvised and taped the sticky cards to my windows and outside my doors. THE DARN THINGS WORKED! Within a day the sticky cards were covered in dead flies! I did go ahead and order the holder, looks a lot nicer than seeing the sticky card covered in dead flies! It sticks to the window with suction cups. It is discreet, easy to fill and refill, and you hardly notice it there. Now I have plenty of refills so this should get me through the summer of flies! Will definitely buy more next summer!

ok, this is a great product, .. i loved the packaging, i love the look, but it needs a STRONGER attractant, the flies don't really come to it, i had a fly trapped in my curtain along with the fly trap and he just flew around it, fly did not go near the trap - so i did what another buyer suggested from a review, i added a few drops of honey and it seems to work better now, catching moths, gnats and other bugs i cant identify... gonna buy another set, but just an FYI to the maker of this, gotta make it stronger or give us some help, further instructions what to add to this trap upon its arrival...

We have goats and chickens, so our flies are incessant and constant. I was hopeful they may help and be a solid solution. It caught a couple but really they weren’t very attracted to it. I though that it would be translucent so the light would shine thought the front which I could see being an attractant but no its just a sold black inside of the grate. I can’t say i would try them again.

Let me preface this with the fact that I utterly despise flies - especially in my kitchen. I cannot even cook if there's one fly in my kitchen. I can't eat if there's a fly in the dining room. We have a farm. There are inevitably a lot of flies. Tell me who wants to deal with those annoying sticky ugly yellow strips in a place where you're dealing with food!! I installed two of these side by side on the window I see the flies spending the most time on. I think that's important: to observe their behavior first. Starting with a very clean window, and then applying water to the suction cups; I had good suction. At the start, one side was giving me trouble. I cleaned with a Windex-style solution and it was fixed. The surface must be totally clean for suction. On one window I placed a trap on the bottom of the pane, and on the other side of the window, I placed the trap at the top. I feel that two on one window works really well for me. My husband will have to clean these for me because it turns my stomach but I finally found a solution to our fly problem that actually works!

I once bought sticky fly paper and a poor bird got his feathers stuck. The bird lived, but I would never get another product unless it had a cover so this wouldn’t happen again. This product would protect birds but it’s so narrow it hardly catches any flies. Sorry, I can’t recommend it.

These were Grah and my Farm House In Maine have to clean out replace it about once every two months and it’s usually full of flies and ladybugs. I love it. Thank you.

Work well but I think they would work even better with a light colour interior as flies seem to be attracted to light colours l we have a black car and a white car and flies always seem to land on the white one. Just a thought Update these are amazing cannot believe how many flies it’s caught when you change sticky card. An add on to my review a small bird flew into my kitchen and got stuck by its wing. I managed to extract it but it lost a few wing feathers. Let it go but ran under a bush I hope it’s ok. Really upset me. There ought to be some sort of cover with holes in,

Excellent product

Absolute waste of time, the idea sounds good but it doesn’t work. Had these up for 4 weeks before putting them in the bin. They didn’t catch one fly between them where my sticky fly catchers were full.

I bought something similar from the supermarket which did absolutely nothing so I had low expectations for this. Surprise, surprise, this one actually works. If you have a big fly problem, which most of this country does because over development has killed off all the small animals that keep fly populations down, then you do need the bigger outdoor fly catchers to get them BEFORE they come into the house. If this review makes it to America, lucky you because your country was smart enough to make fly screens the standard on houses. Here in UK, we're not that smart. If you want fresh air, you get flies. I have 5 outdoor traps hanging around front, back, side of my house outdoors and that has reduced how many flies come in. But these handy window traps are catching what does sneak in another bugs I didn't even notice before. 5 stars because it is catching things as opposed to not catching things like the supermarket one. But it's sort of a casual background additional tool. If you have a big problem you need the bigger ones with the smelly attractant liquid to catch them outdoors. Also it will work better on a window that gets light. It will catch less if there's a curtain shut over it. The fly goes towards the light and then looks down and lands.

I'm giving this product 3 stars because of its aesthetic appearance and ingenious idea. I only wished it had worked for me. I wonder if the sticky paper needs something extra to entice the flies in?
