Dear Amazon.com Grip Enthusiasts, I really enjoy this MummyFit Death Grip Hand Strengthener. This thing is built like a tank. When you hold it in your hand you notice its quality, beauty, and power. Even the easiest setting is difficult for me to close more than just a few reps. One cool feature is the "clickers" on the bottom of the two handles. These ensure you are closing the handles together; the gripper clicks every time you complete a strong repetition. I noticed the clicking becomes quieter when I have fatigued. This is because I am using less force for each concentric rep. For example, I can close the handles together to make the Death Grip click hard with my right hand. On my left hand, however, it only makes a faint noise and I realize how much weaker my left hand is to my dominant one. Another cool feature is the easy to adjust tension "knob." I have a cheaper gripper, "The Super Human Grip" Adjustable Grip Strengthener from Core Prodigy. While I love it, it requires me to manually adjust the tension knob and then physically move the coil spring to one of its four settings. I then have to re-tighten the tension knob. It is a pain. However, this won't happen with the Death Grip. All you have to do is turn the tension knob and it automatically rolls itself to the next resistance setting. W stands for Weak and to lower the resistance (unless its already at the lowest setting - which it will be when you receive it in its original packaging) you turn the knob to the left. S stands for Strong and you turn the knob to the right. It is that simple! This thing can crank up to an unbelievable resistance, similar to a Captains of Crush 1.5 gripper (155 lbs). The heavy duty thermoplastic material is going to hold up for a lifetime. It comes with a lifetime warranty just in case something happens to it. There are grooves on the outside handle to better grip this device. I have personally found wrapping the first, inner handle with tennis racket tape or putting a piece of soft foam over it will greatly reduce the occurrence of scrapes to the soft tissues of your hand. Finally, their customer service is excellent. Someone from the company both answered my question on Amazon.com below as well as through my personal e-mail account in a matter of hours. Overall, this product will provide me with years of gripping pleasure and I hope to one day close the Death Grip for 3-5 reps on the max setting. When this is the case, I'll be able to crush coconuts with my bare hands! Enjoy.

Love this forearm builder. I had an accident where my right forearm suffered a severe wound, causing an eight inch long cut and all the way to the bone. I lost most of my forearm mass (from 17 1/2 inches to 14 inches) during the months I was unable to use it. When I could begin exercising it again I could not do forearm curls as my range of motion is now somewhat restricted. I had a couple of old "squeezers" lying around but I soon outgrew their resistance and I had forgotten how uncomfortable they were to use. I was about to buy a stronger set with more comfortable grips when I ran across this bad boy. What attracted me to it was that it was adjustable from 55lbs up to a whopping 154Lbs! But it's so much more than that. It's incredibly strong (not the cheap plastic I feared it would be) composite material, extremely comfortable even for big hands which tend to overlap the ends, and remains comfortable even when you use it upside down to work the extensor muscles and the brachioradialis. You increase of decrease the resistance easily and as incrementally as you like by simply turning a smoothly turning dial clockwise or anti clockwise. My forearm is up to 17" again using this wonderful tool three times a week for twenty minute, high rep sessions for 4 months! I also use it on clients with arthritic hands on the lower settings and has done wonders for their grip strength. Thank you MummyFit, I owe you big time!

Overall, I think this is a very good product for building grip strength. It is the most advanced grip exerciser that I have owned. In my opinion, here are the pros. I really like the ability to adjust the tension. I can warm up at lower resistance and then increase it for a good workout. The fact that it is silent is a great plus as I can use it during meetings without disturbing anyone. There are also a few areas of improvement that I wish this product had. You have to increase the resistance to get a wider grip. The grip at the lower weight is pretty narrow for large hands. If you tighten the resistance, the grip width is great, but it becomes too difficult to actually use (realistically). The spring does have a 'spongy' feel, in that the resistance is not consistent throughout the full range of motion. It is much easier to squeeze the first 50% (give or take) than the final 50%. I do feel like the quality of the materials is there. The product is sturdy and I believe will last a LONG time. The price is considerably more that other options out there, but I think in the long run this exerciser will be around for the long haul.

New update, now 4.2025 and still functions as they did brand new in 2019. Worth every penny. Update: May 2nd 2020. I've been using these almost everyday since my purchase 4-2019 and they still work insanely perfect like brand new!! Very excellent product with absolutely no regrets!! I bought a pair of these in April 2019 and use them almost everyday. Everyone comments on how huge my forearms are. I do lift weights as well, but I don't have any other specific forearm workout regimen. A couple of years ago, I was breaking one hand/forearm exerciser every 2 weeks not through abuse, just using them as they were advertised. I would return them back to the Big 5 store I purchased them from for $20 bucks a pop. After the 5th return the manager told me he would not warranty any more. Long story short, I don't shop at Big 5 any more. I found these on Amazon last April and have been using them ever since. These are excellent quality. Yes, they are silent as well. The other worthless ones creaked with every squeeze until the springs finally broke. This is a product I highly recommend!! AND!! THEY ARE WARRANTED FOR LIFE! You probably won't need to ever return them; I haven't had to yet and they still feel assolid as the day I bought them. You won't find a better quality gripper/builder with that warranty. Booooo on Big 5! Yeaa on MummyFit!

This is a really great product!!! It is really well made, very strong plastic, with metal where it needs to be. It has very useful settings. Low settings is great for lots of reps and building that grip endurance, and the higher settings are great for building hand strength. I play guitar and use the lighter settings for endurance, and go about half way, or a little more, to build up hand strength for doing lifting at the gym. It is also a great stress reliever that everyone on in my office can't seem to keep their hands off of. It really is a great product, I am very picky about quality, Death Grip is well made and it will last. If you are looking for a useful tool to build strength, buy this product, you will not be disappointed.

This group strengthener appears to be very sturdy. The plastic handle feels very durable. The adjustment knob is very easy to turn and simplistic to understand. I have smaller hands and I have no issue getting a solid grip around the handles. The notches between strengths is not too extreme either. I have a hard time figuring out the exact weight that I have turned the product to but that's just me. I like to be pretty exact and the unit has a rough estimate. The tension spring is thick and I wouldn't think longevity would be an issue. It appears to be very durable. I have no other experience with other products to compare it's build to. I've only grabbed a few in random stores to feel how durable they are. The price point was a little higher than I would have liked, but again that may just be a personal thing. You get what you pay for so I could justify the price. Would love to have seen it at a little lower price point, by who wouldn't on anything they buy? All in all I'm excited to have this and look forward to strengthening my grip. The workouts they suggest on the packaging are a great place to start and look forward to adjusting my own routine as I see fit in the future.

I have purchased many grip strengtheners over the years. I use them at my desk job to do something different with my hands besides typing/mousing. After breaking the spring on yet another one I went looking for a new model and I found the Death Grip. I have only had it for a few weeks but it seems solid. They promise a "lifetime" of use but I will see how that works out after 6 months or a year which is how long it took me to break others. It did start squeaking after a few days of use. I squirted some silicone spray into anywhere that I thought was moving and causing the noise. I think it is coming from where the spring connects inside the handle. It eventually stopped after I worked the lube into it. I like that the strength is adjustable. I keep it towards the lower end of the scale. I did notice that it tends to slide even lower on its own as it is used. Not a big deal but it pays to occasionally check that the setting is where you expect it to be. Overall my initial review of this product is positive. It feels solid, provides smooth resistance and offers a variety of settings to challenge any hand strength.

- Grip quality acceptable but not the best, when using you would notice the handle slightly not align (slight twist) when compress because the pivoting manufacture in a way no strong enough...if the handle don't twist when compress it would be perfect. - Gripper should always tension at the initial starting point there is where our weakest position is so that more muscle fiber can be recruited from the gripping movement. No point tensioning when the grip is at its strongest position (near grip) because lesser muscle group will engage and it defeats the purpose. Even if we adjust higher intensity the tension is not consistent from Point A to Point B Verdict: 8/10

The first thing that I noticed when I used this grip strengthener for the first time was the strong construction and the quality of the material. My other grip strengthener was with a spring that you stretch out and that made some scary sounds. Because of its construction this one seems a lot safer to me. It is also very easy to change the level of resistance; in takes only a few seconds to change it. The biggest advantage this grip strengthener has over others is for me the great range of resistance levels you can choose from. For most people this is probably the only grip strengthener they will ever have to buy.

This hand grip is amazing, it is more harder even that Captain of Crush gripper 2 with 70 kg. Handles are soften and sturdy to prevent callus and spring are not squeaky. I have no doubts to recommend this product.
