Latin Percussion LP Twist Shaker - Soft, Yellow

These are my new favorite shakers. I thought the twisting would be a pure gimmick, but I love the twist functionality. I use two at a time, but I purchased a soft (yellow) and a medium (blue) and combined one of each. The combination of shaker sounds I get now is pure heaven. The blue helps cut and provide a good "chick" sound, and the yellow gives a great shuffle sound that helps to fill out the overall timbre. Ive separated them and played them one in each hand with poly rhythms and they worked quite well also, with the yellow being better for keeping up a steady rhythm while you accent with the slightly louder blue. The shape of both shakers together is also very nice for using while playing drumset. They sit still very nicely, and are extremely easy to grasp, hold, and shake with one hand while youre using your feet and other hand to do whatever else you need. I really am in love with my shakers and I show them off to all of my percussion friends, I would highly recommend not only getting one set, but mix and match colors, youll get a better sound and you can really tailor it to the use you need.

The yellow one has the softest sound, like it's full of sand. The red one has the loudest and harshest sound, like it's full of small dried beans, and the blue one is right in the middle. I don't know when you'd ever really need or want the red one, but the blue and yellow ones are great. I wrap tape around mine to keep them from twisting apart as I hold a drumstick in my hand with the shaker and for some reason that seems to make it want to twist apart. Works great!

I have the medium shaker of this series and it’s good but this one is far superior. It is very easy to control, it is very “swishy“ and you can use it in so many different ways. I also like that you can pair it with another shaker from the same series and use it as a shaker with two volumes which allows more creativity. Shakers are underestimated instruments in your percussion lineup. This one is a good one to have because of its versatility it also sounds damn good.

Great projection. Durable - I had a similar one from another company and the ends cracked, losing beads. This one hold up. It has a good grasp feel - easy to pick up, use and put down

Great quality, great volume, and takes a beating while on stage, for me as well as people dancing, and little kids dropping it, etc. Best I've used so far!

The fact that they are separable is a big plus.

The shape and grip let you hold this in such a way that you can do all kinds of things you've never been able to do with an egg shaker. You can play it MUCH faster, with more precision, freeing your body to move. And the soft sound to me is perfect for the music I play. My other tube shakers sound so harsh in comparison that I don't use them any longer. You can count on one hand the number of products I've rated five starts. Great job.

Had to play a slow jazz shuffle the other night, what a kit drummer would normally do with brushes on a snare. Managed to get a more intricate sound with a yellow ganza in one hand and a blue one in the other. These are so versatile and are now part of my standard percussion kit. Can’t live without them.
