I suppose I've been using Braun shavers for about thirty years. During this time the quality has been up and down. My previous purchase, a Series 3, was ten years ago and I have to say that its performance was so bad that I reverted to the shaver (another series 3) I had bought previous to that (it must be twenty years ago!). Ten years ago I understood that Braun had their shavers assembled in the Far East and I think that those were of inferior quality judging by the reviews at that time. However, I am very much delighted with my recent purchase. Braun shavers are now back to the quality that they used to enjoy and I note that they are now assembled back in Germany. This is the best shaver I've ever had from either Braun or any other manufacturer. It shaves very closely and picks up any long hairs immediately (my previous ones didn't). In fact, for the first time I can leave shaving for a day or two and have no problem with the extra stubble (this has always been a problem in the past!). Battery life appears to be good as I've been using the shaver most days for the last five weeks and it still doesn't need a recharge. Maybe the Series 8 is a little more expensive than the Series 3 but not by very much with the discounts that are available. However it is well worth it! I'm not noted for generally writing effusive reviews but I am more pleased with this purchase than any previous ones!

This purchase was to replace my Braun 7570 which was only able to be used when plugged in, sometimes. The series 8 is a big difference. Everything from the ease of handling to the quality of the shave has been a massive improvement. Typical German engineering and quality, the series 8 is a joy to use. I opted for the basic series 8 without the cleaning station. The one that the 7570 came with was always a kluge at best, the replacement cartridges are expensive and you can’t take it with you when you travel anyway. The battery life is exceptional. All-in-all a solid buy and a great purchase - especially with a Black Friday discount of over 60%!

Still prefer a Gilette blade shave but this isn't bad - more convenient and comfortable enough but not as close as a blade. The battery life is very good - seems to last for weeks and weeks. Lets see how long the shaver lasts - it says its designed to last for 7 years which doesn't seem very long and I can't see spending £40 every 18 months for a new head/cassette (as recommended) - the cheap Panasonic that it replaces was still going after 10+ years without any service or parts replacement.

I've had a series 3 Braun for years and was very happy, but it was starting to need frequent recharging so thought I'd upgrade. I'm very pleased with the new shaver which gives a close shave and has excellent battery life. I've had it for a month now and have just recharged it once since the initial charge, using it once a day. A big improvement. It's perhaps a little noisier than the old one, but I don't find that a problem. The trimmer is a bit narrower than on my old shaver, but, again, I haven't found that's caused any difficulty. Overall, I think it's a quality shaver.

This shaves extremely well, perhaps due to the swivelling cutter head. I have used it for 20 days now and there are still 3 stripes left on the battery indicator (which does not have the digital readout that I had expected). I imagine that I will ultimately get fewer shaves per charge as the head wears and the battery ages. My only complaint is that it is noisier than my earlier Braun, although one gets used to the sound after a while. It is quite expensive, although not too much so when Amazon reduce the price below Braun's always ludicrously inflated "recommended" price.

l just bought series 8 from Amazon it seems like it's a hidden product ,l went on U tube to learn the best way to use it, nothing the Demo jumped from series 7 to 9 I have tried several places but no 8 is ever mentioned , l even tried to get an answer to the question from the Braun Helpline don.t, don't even go there 45 min no answer the web page useless, the days of German efficiency are long gone l am going to return it

Over the past 50 years have had several electric razors bought for me, all of which ended up in the bin or given away. Using an electric razor I always had razor burn and spent the day scratching the itch. I was bought this razor as a present and used it just to give it a go. What an amazing gift this has turned out to be. I now use it everyday and it's brilliant. Not once had razor burn. Don't use oils or balms and I get a really good shave. I love it and can highly recommend it... 5 star.

Just stopped working after charging. Not what you expect given the price. Third party seller only give 1 year warranty! Not 2 as Braun. Third party seller not helpful. Will not buy from them again. Razor only used maybe twice a month so max 28 times given I’ve a beard. Very dissapointed . On contacting Braun I discovered that this third party seller sold me old stock! Braun wanted the serial number which began with a 5. They said currently their numbers begin with 8. Advice was to visit the actual Braun shop who sell thro Amazon to get most recent products.
