I'm giving it a 5 star review not because it is an amazing product, but because at this price it is a great value for your dollar. This is definitely not a fantastic speaker and not high quality. However if you don't fool yourself into thinking that you will be receiving a Bose speaker, you should be fine. There is some static when the volume is on the loudest and nothing is playing. All in all, the listing did not over-play or over-promise what it was and what I would be getting and I was not disillusioned at what I would be receiving. I guess if you understand that before buying.. PROS - Very inexpensive; I bought a second one for another computer because why not, it's only 8 bucks. - Decent design. - Good Size. - Passes for doing the job. - Lightweight (could be a CON, depending on what you prefer). CONS - Static when speaker is on with nothing playing. - Cord could be a little longer. It is about 4 feet. Would have preferred 6-8 feet. Overall: If you are looking for a basic speaker, for this price it is worth getting. Review: Low sound, loud hissing noise. Headphone port doesn't work at all. - Even with the volume turned up all the way, the sound is very low, and can barely be heard over the loud hissing noise the speakers make. When headphones are plugged into the headphone port, there is no sound at all. These speakers don't work. I was not looking for high quality sound for music/movies/games. I only need speakers for the computer notification sounds and occasional voice playback. That's why I was willing to give the inexpensive speakers a try. But when the speakers don't even play a basic email notification sound, it's not just poor quality; it doesn't even meet the very lowest requirements of a speaker.

Read and decide for yourself.
For the price... they work. The sound quality is awful. They don't actually send sound directionally. You can hear just as clearly from the back of them as you can from the front, and sometimes it's even louder (I've turned them around when playing some games because I can hear the game sounds more clearly). I'd had a set of $20 HP speakers from 2007. The only reason I bought these is that one of the speaker cords had gotten loose and one speaker cut out regularly. The problem is that those $20 speakers, that were almost 9 years old, have better sound quality after getting battered and moved around the country, moving housing 10 times and still sounded better. The one advantage is that they're LOUD for their size (they're less than half the size of my old speakers), albeit the sound is washed out. If you don't care about sound quality, these are fine for you. But even someone who doesn't have a good ear for sound can tell you that they're not quality in the least. If you're computer/sound savvy, you might think that you can mix your sound settings to get them to sound good, but that isn't the case. With these it's like they've got everything turned up to 10 instead of tuning certain hz levels to the proper amount. You're either going to get blasting volumes or you're going to get washed out sound. There is no in between. I've even tried using mixing software to get them to sound better, no dice. You always get washed out or maxed. All in all, if you want even decent sound: don't buy these. If you're on a tight budget and need something: these are GREAT for you. Price : 5 stars Sound : 1.25 stars (I'd get it a 1 if it weren't for the volume) Sound directional focus : 0 stars

Not great, but good for cheap speakers
Not great, but good for cheap speakers. Makes loud screeching sounds occasionally and at random times. Power cable won't stay plugged into the outlet, it falls out because it's a bit small for regular outlets I guess. They work as speakers though.

Well, what did you expect for this price?
The speaker sound quality is cruddy. Sounds like it's playing from an old tube television. I wasn't expecting much out of this, but I didn't think it would be THAT bad. The headphone jack quality is however good your headphones are. But in the description it's states that the volume controls control... well... the volume. With the headphone jack, the volume controls don't function. I looked around online to see if this was a defect, but it is not and appears to be how the device is made. Also you can turn the speakers off and the headphone jack will still play, so it's really more of a headphone extender rather than being connected to the speakers If you absolutely need the bare bones minimum, and need a cheap pair of speakers right NOW, this is for you. You could probably fare better by going to Goodwill and grabbing another pair no one wanted, or by bumping yourself up a couple of bucks and getting something with more quality. These aren't very good and aren't advertised correctly.

These Speakers Are Really Great! The Price Is Really Low For The Product
These Speakers Are Really Great! The Price Is Really Low For The Product, But Hey Im not Complaining. The Only Issue I Have Experienced Is That One Speaker Works At A Certain Volume Level But They Both Work Low And Loud.. These Speakers Are Great And Im Thankful That I Came Upon This Product. Thanks Guys. Your Awesome!!

Run you fools!!!
I can't speak to the quality of all the speakers, as the lemon I got wasn't worth trying to replace and give this brand a second chance. My review should come as no surprise given the fact that they are $8 speakers, but i'll post it anyway. - The construction is ultra cheap, like plastic coated paper mache - The speakers are small (the box with both speakers inside is about the size of a roll of toilet paper) - Upon plugging it in the first time, sound was barely even coming out of one of the speakers - Sound clarity was non-existent, and there was a lot of high pitched/muddy reverb In short, the seller was absolutely fine, but just about any speakers would be better than what I got. Don't be cheap, just get the $20 speakers.
