Great illustrations and instructions. I bought for an online class that Sharpe offers and both are AWESOME! She helps you consider the "tools of the trade" and encourages practice and getting comfortable with your personal font. 'just can't praise this enough...thank you Joanne for sharing your love of lettering, color, perspective and possibilities with the world!

I absolutely LOVE this book! The book is divided into four parts. Part 1, Alphabet Art and Lettering, addresses the "what" and "why" of creating artful lettering. Part 2, Supplies and Materials, provides a photo and explanation of the supplies - brushes, paper, paints, ink, markers, pens, etc. - used in creating Artful Alphabets. Part 3, Art Basics for Lettering, provides an easy-to-understand explanation of the 7 basic art principles. Part 4, Drawing Awesome Alphabets, has well-written instructions with photos, materials lists, and Joanne's beautiful examples for 55 creative alphabets. If you are an artist, an art journaler, a scrapbooker, or a doodler, you NEED this book!

Fun book with some great inspiration for creating your own lettering. Take away from her books is that you take your OWN handwriting and creating a new lettering style but it is uniquely your own. Currently my sis is borrowing this book so I may have to buy my own...

I’m having a good time practicing letter making with this book to guide me.

Lots of different ideas given here. And I like the fact that she uses so many different types of mediums. She also explains things really clearly shows nice pictures and how-to steps. there are plenty enough examples to really get your creative juices flowing!

This is a fantabulous book! I’m always looking for new ideas for creative lettering in art and this book has 55 different lettering techniques by the one and only Joanne Sharpe. I’ve taken several of her classes and I love them and this book is on par with her classes. Worth every penny

Once again, Joanne shows off her amazing creativity and reignites my artistic spark all over again in her new book. I don’t know why, but I’m always surprised by the new things she creates for her books. Love the instructions, the colors and the encouragement throughout.

I loved this book. I bought it just to have fun with letters, and it does spark the imagination. Easy to read clear instructions. I highly recommend for anyone any age (I am 70) who just wants to doodle craft an alphabet or who wants help with alternative ideas for any sort of project title. I might just get this in paper copy.

Gorgeous fonts in virtually every style imaginable. A snap at £3.99 for the kindle book. It made trawling through 30 Amazon pages worthwhile.
