Red Dead Redemption 2 (XBox One)

Red Dead Redemption 2 was seriously one of, if not the best games I have ever played. I got this game around a year ago now and I am still finding new things to do in the story mode nevertheless. That is how detailed this game really is. The main map is huge with so many places to explore, and many things to do. There are side quests on top of “stranger missions, as well as challenges/achievements that can allow the player to have up to 600 hours on this game, on story mode. That is not even counting the online mode, where players can interact with the world with their own original characters. Don’t even get me started on the main story. The main story was breathtaking, it had many character arcs that left me feeling so in tune with Arthur, the main character, and his story. And the side characters even had in-depth stories, truly immersing you into the western world. The game mechanics are unique, and do not feel forced in. The game is realistic and deals with hard and complex topics, like if you need food you have to go through multiple tasks to hunt the animal, but it doesn’t feel tedious like other games might. The game even has a Journal mechanic giving you more insight into Arthur’s character, which is my personal favorite of the game. The journal is a great storytelling mechanic that does not feel forced in at all. The graphics in this game are so pretty. Everything feels so real, like animals play together and the sun reflects off of the snow in the mountains. Truly marvelous to just stop and stare sometimes off of a nice scenic mountain. This game is a 10/10 and I recommend it to everyone I come across, truly brings a new era into the gaming world for sure.

item arrived brand new, sealed in plastic wrap. there were absolutely no scratches on the discs. was able to insert the install disc, let it download, then insert the play disc, and start the game with ease. also for anyone on the fence about this game, i absolutely can not recommend it enough! i was hesitant about spending money as i wasn’t for sure if i’d like it or if it would be worth it but this game could cost more and i’d still pay the price. the game is so addicting and the story is amazing to say the least. i absolutely guarantee you that you’ll get into the story. the first couple of chapters is a bit slow, fair warning, but after that it really picks up. i encourage you to take your time and really explore the world. there’s so much to do and see. you don’t want to just go chapter after chapter as it kind of ruins the experience. i haven’t got a chance to play rdr2 online but i’ve heard good things about it. 5/5 stars, would rate more if i could!

Debt collecting will be the death of you. High quality games are a given from Rockstar. Graphics that look amazing even several years on. Worth every penny even in 2026.

[FYI: 57 year old, married father of two who plays on an Xbox One in the evenings] Just finished the main quest line last night, but still tons to do, explore and baddies to kill. Easily the best video game graphics, story and production I’ve ever played. Worth all the ‘best game’ awards. Took me about 2.5 months to get through the whole main story playing 3-4x a week for a 2-3 hours, so there’s a ton of content there. And, of course you can go off and do your own thing or side-quests then return to the main story when you’re ready. I especially enjoyed the treasure hunts that result in a 2+ gold ingots and a ton of cash at the fences, and there a bunch of these. So well written and acted that I actually sat through 15+ minutes of credits last night sipping bourbon just to give the creators props. And, I won’t spoil anything, but there were a couple poignant moments when someone or something left the late game and I choked up, if I were “any less of a man” I might have been balling. I was totally invested, it’s like being in a well-plotted western where you control the pace, decisions and action. So well done.

If you are debating getting this game, get it. Got this one on Xbox to indoctrinate my brother into the RDR cult. This game is a cinematic masterpiece. I loved Red Dead Redemption 1 but never could fathom what this game would do to me. Truly life changing. The graphics are top tier, the storyline is nothing short from fantastic, the map is vast and filled with tiny details and plenty of side missions. Been playing this game for almost 3 years and I still manage to see something cool every time I play it. I don’t want to say too much as to avoid spoilers but while playing this game I have laughed, raged, reflected on life, and sobbed until I couldn’t breathe. I can never play this game for the first time again. I wish I could. Do not miss this opportunity to learn what it is like to really live. Get the game. Fall in love. Have your life changed for the better.
