Review for Slice 10400 Box Cutter with Ceramic Blade
As someone who frequently deals with packages and cardboard boxes, I recently decided to try out the Slice 10400 Box Cutter, and I must say, it has become an indispensable tool in my daily routine. The first feature that caught my attention is the 3-position manual button, which allows me to easily adjust the blade depth according to my needs. This versatility comes in handy when I have different types of materials to cut, as I can switch between shallow and deep cuts with a simple press of the button. The three-position design ensures safety, as I can retract the blade completely when not in use. Speaking of safety, the ceramic blade is a game-changer in box cutters. Unlike traditional metal blades, the ceramic blade is much safer to use, as it stays sharp for an extended period and doesn't rust or corrode. I no longer worry about accidentally cutting myself or damaging the contents of the package. Additionally, the blade is replaceable, making it an eco-friendly option compared to disposable plastic box cutters. The locking blade mechanism is another valuable feature of this Slice 10400 cutter. Once I set the blade to the desired position, I can lock it securely in place, ensuring consistent and accurate cuts without any blade wobbling. The locking mechanism adds to the overall stability and ease of use, making my cutting tasks efficient and precise. In terms of performance, the Slice 10400 Box Cutter impresses me every time. The ceramic blade effortlessly glides through cardboard, tape, and even plastic without leaving jagged edges. I appreciate how sharp the blade remains even after prolonged use, providing consistent cutting power without the need for frequent replacements. As for value for money, investing in the Slice 10400 Box Cutter is a wise decision. Its durability, safety features, and longevity make it a cost-effective choice compared to traditional box cutters that require constant blade changes and pose a higher risk of accidents. In conclusion, the Slice 10400 Box Cutter with Ceramic Blade is a top-notch tool for anyone dealing with packaging and box cutting regularly. Its safety features, adjustable blade depth, and outstanding cutting performance set it apart from conventional box cutters. Whether you're a professional or just handling packages at home, the Slice 10400 is a must-have addition to your toolkit.

Makes quick work of opening boxes, safe to use. Not the best for cutting into cardboard
This is a good safe knife to use when you are trying to cup open boxes. I normally need one that can be used to cut boxes to make them easier to throw away. It makes quick work of cutting the packaging tape but it is safe enough to not cut you which is good. Regardless it safety retracts and stores the plastic blade. You have to actually press and hold the button down to extend and retract the blade. This makes it so the knife cannot close by itself by accident when you are cutting. You can flip the blade around but the material has yet to go blunt. The blade itself can also be easily replaced all you need to do is press and unlock the cover to expose the blade. You then can replace it with a new blade. You need to replace it with a slice blade. What is nice about this blade is that only half it is actually out so when the one side gets dull you just need to turn it around and presto you have another blade to use. Again the blade has yet to have issues. The grip is pretty secure and there is a belt hook so you can put it on your belt without worrying about it falling off. You have to find some kind of ring or hook to attach to it though. It is not included. This can cut most small boxes as well as tape which is great for me because I always have a ton of boxes and mailers I need to open. The orange color is not bad but it see darker near the tip piece. Because it has no real metal, it is not prone to rusting. This means it can get wet and you can easily clean/dry it out without fear of damaging it. Overall I think this device is pretty nice. It is definitely a good utility knife to have around as it is safe, sturdy, and cuts through packaging tape without worrying about cutting yourself.

3 years later, still 5 stars
I take knives seriously. And box cutters. Anything sharp really. I have more box cutters than I should. So when my wife asked for this for a birthday gift, I was a little bumbed. Seriously? Ceramic? With a curved handle??? Lemme tell you, this thing is incredible. Never slips. Always sharp enough. Safe enough for the kids to use. And it can CUT! I just flipped the blade around for the first time. (That’s honestly what reminded me to write a review)

Ultimate "junk drawer" box cutter!
The basic design concept of this box cutter is no different than a generic $5 carpet cutter but there are some design refinements that make this thing perfect for home use (especially by online shopping addicts, not that I'd know any). -The blade doesn't protrude much farther out than how thick heavy corrugated cardboard is. This should be adequate for opening any boxes you'll run into but the potential dangers (to both you and your delivered products) are minimized. Single edged razor style carpet cutters generally extend MUCH further. -The blade also has a shorter click-stop that is a great depth for cutting tape, since opening most boxes doesn't require cutting the cardboard -The ceramic blade should last all but indefinitely provided it doesn't hit any hard surfaces. I used to have a ceramic paring knife and chipped the blade when it knocked against something in the kitchen. The fact that this blade doesn't extend very far prevents that from happening with this blade. Just don't try and slice your chives with it on a marble cutting board and you'll be fine :) -This blade is sharp enough to slice through heavy corrugated cardboard with ease, whether tearing down boxes or cutting the flaps off a 12 pack of beer bottles -The flat surface from which the blade protrudes is big which has a VERY nice effect. When cutting cardboard with a normal knife, even a sharp one, the blade can go in to the hilt, then you draw the blade outward and it can come out entirely, and you end up almost sawing the cardboard. With the large flat on this box cutter controlling blade depth is no longer an issue. Just drag the flat end along the box and it is neatly sliced. This is another reason it is safer (for you and whatever's in the box). -I didn't understand the curve of this cutter very well before I had it in my hands. I figured it could be a knuckle guard but who scrapes up their knuckles on cardboard boxes? Once I started using it I realized that this shape allows you to quickly slide the handle into a pocket or belt to hold it securely but still keep it accessible -In addition to the "quick draw" while you're opening boxes, the curve also lets you hang up this cutter on a nail. For instance if you have children and want this out of reach you could hang it high on the wall on the inside of a coat closet or pantry or anywhere else near where you will need it. The only thing I don't like about this is the price, but such is the way of niche products. I'm sure the ceramic blade is a big part of the cost too. I'm happy to answer any questions- just leave them in the comments. Hopefully this is Helpful!

Not for cutting string or thick threads perfect as a box cutter
The size of this cutter means it will be difficult to lose; it's easy to find and is hard to conceal. The blade is not very long, it just barely protrudes even at the fullest extension. It's ideal if you have to deal with cardboard boxes a lot of the time; it opens Amazon boxes in a flash. Boxes with thicker cardboard, like ones for wrapping appliances it doesn't do great with, for those a standard X-Acto is better. It cuts through most shipping tapes very well, it also works well to chop down larger boxes. The handle makes this very stress free, you don't have to strain your fingers trying to grip a tiny plastic wedge. Only complaint about the plastic blades is that it seems like it's harder to clean the blades from goo while they're in the cutter, you're better off removing the blade out of its holder to do that.

Very safe box cutter
I bought this box cutter because it was advertised as safer than your regular box cutter. Historically, I have often cut myself with standard box cutters. I have found this one very easy to use and I have not cut myself once. It even has a great design, which is much more usable than your standard one. I think I recall that when I bought it, the detailed description said that the blade (ceramic?) lasts much longer than the usual metal blades. I have actually purchased 2 of these because I keep them in different places in the apartment, and neither of the blades has gotten dull. Great product!

Good points and poor points
I'm torn about this box cutter. On the one hand, it's large enough to be grasped readily by old hands, but the size of the blade seems small to me, and its' not always easy to get the blade extended fully. Six of one and half a dozen of the other. To be able to hold it steadily is important as we age, but it's also important to be able to use the whole blade easily.

Great box cutter
Purchased for work as recent delivery came with a lot of packaging. Very easy to use, comfortable handle, very safe with the ceramic blade. Would recommend.

Duży dobrej jakości nóż do otwierania pudełek.
