I've bought and replaced 2 machines w/ same problem. new, they withhold water inside machine and will only empty thru the spout. anyone else?

I found my Redline needs to be de-scaled with vinegar much more often than other brands. If the tank doesn't drain all the water when a pot is brewed, that's the sign to me the heating element needs to be de-scaled. My water is very hard, so I've learned I need to run 2 cups of vinegar through it once a month or sooner. The Redline is kind of a mixed bag; while it needs to be cleaned more frequently than others, the 'short stop' lever on the brewing cup makes it very easy to flush the vinegar out. The lever puts a full stop to the flow with no dribbles, so the pot full of vinegar can be emptied, and tank refilled with fresh water until all traces of the vinegar are gone. Once cleaned, the heating element brews very good coffee very quickly, and the 'short stop' lever allows me to sneak a cup without making a mess.

Does this product have a filter

If you mean water filter, no it does not. No coffee filter either, it came with a couple of #4 cone filter you can use.

Can I brew directly into a mug?
