The case is designed like a record player with a tall spindle in the middle. The discs stack nice and securely on the spindle without slipping around and therefore do not scratch. The whole thing then has a cover that fits over the spindle and discs and locks into place. It's a very well protected case. Whether it lasts for 100 years or not, I would not know.
