Arrived well packaged and fit and finish are excellent, easy install.

Picked this up for my Marlin 1895 GBL in .45-70. Fits flawlessly and allows me to mount a scout scope instead of a traditional rifle scope. The machining on the rail and hardware was good, no stripped screws or burs. The hardware kit includes a small tube of blue lock tite, which is great if you forget to have some on hand. I haven't bought the ghost ring sight set that goes with it yet, but they provide the proper mounting hardware for either choice. After installing this, I've put about 100 rounds through the rifle, and the rail has not come loose or shifted at all.

I already had a Marlin 1895SBL, but my wifes 1895GBL needed a rail in order to replace the stock sights with a nice scope. Enter the XS rail system. It's the exact same rail that came on my SBL, so I knew it would fit perfect on my wifes GBL. Turned her rifle from a brush gun into a high powered hunting rifle after about 15 minutes of work. Will turn to XS systems next time I need to do something similar with other rifles. Fine product!

This mount is tailor made for the Marlin 1894. It fits like a glove to the rifle, though be warned that the instructions are not easy to follow as they are written more for the 336 rifle. I faired better just figuring it out on my own. It took me about 15 minutes to install and I was quite pleased at how well it fit and looked on my rifle. I would also say that although this is high quality, the price is a little steep...should be more like $50-$60. Also and most importantly....when mounting a scope on a Marlin 1894 with this rail and you elect to keep the ghost ring sight mounted, you will need Xtra Xtra high scope mounts in order for the scope tube to clear the ghost ring sight. Anything less is simply not tall enough to clear it.

These rails never seem to come with correct parts missing the dovetail piece and all wrong size screws

Great rail system. Too bad they sent the wrong ghost ring sites, but this lever rail is slick. Bought me a knew 1895 GBL for Christmas (early gift this year for deer season). Took me a while to figure out how to install it, but thanks to youtube and XS's videos, I figured it out. Awesome rail!

Very happy, dressed up my Marlin and set it up perfecf for a Leupold 5HD. You'll need to do a little file work the rifles are all slightly different for the dovetail and it throws the receiver taps out slightly. Keep a diamond file ready and work for a few minutes to fit it, then perfect.

This rail system is awesome. It does require some fitting to install it but as long as you have a bit of general "know how" it is no problem, there are several very helpful videos on YouTube for step by step including all fitting. Once installed the rail system is rock solid and is everything I had hoped it would be. I would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their marlin for optics and accessory mounting, or just to give your firearm a better overall look.

Mounted the product on my brand new Marlin 336 XLR

The product is advertised as a complete package in the photos and lists “sights” in the “what’s included” section but you will only receive the rail. The XS product is excellent quality but the rail is useless without the sights. The seller does not offer them, even separately. I will be returning.
