HSK Standard Course 1 SET - Textbook +Workbook (Chinese and English Edition)

These books are absolutely fantastic. As I begin my Mandarin learning journey, I wanted well known and well formatted books to help study and introduce the language to myself. These did not fail! Both books came in very good condition. The shipping was also faster than I expected. The HSK 1 textbook’s cover has a slight bent spot (assuming it was shipping), but it’s hardly noticeable. The back of the HSK 1 textbook also has the cumulative list of all the vocabulary, type of word, and characters for each. As you can see in the photos, the textbook is in color while the workbook is in black and white. The workbook is divided into pronunciation, listening, characters, and reading. However, I read reviews saying that there’s a lack of an answer key to the workbook, so please keep that in mind. I also saw some buyers having trouble with finding the audio files. Despite this, I think this a great resource to introduce yourself to a quite complex language such as Mandarin. I highly recommend and I hope to continue buying future HSK books!

I am currently a 17 year old who got inspired to learn mandarin. so of course i had to get this starter text book! The text book so far is pretty good in explaining things and they way you’re supposed to pronounce letters and words and helps you understand and distinguish the different tones with the audio. One small problem is that the audio cuts off a lot so i just go on youtube and find all the audio i need for every lesson on there. that is only the small issue but other then that the book so far is pretty straight forward and makes everything clear (i am on lesson 4 moving onto lesson 5) . it explains how to use certain words and phrases and the pictures really help. you visualize and think in mandarin instead of translating from english to chinese in your head. I will give this book a 4.9/5 !! :D totally worth for your chinese learning investment

Great study books for my daughter

Pros: A good book to use if you don't like using software for studies. It provides examples and outline is clear. Cons: 1. A grading app for practice would be a plus to ensure your pronunciation is correct. 2. The preface is totally Chinese and I had to use Google translate. Characters are not so relevant for beginners 3. The download for review chapters does not allow for self assessment

Books came in safe! The books just came in, i have yet to try them and start learning, but from what I’ve seen (by looking through the book) this is going to amazing! Totally my style. Super light the books and one thing that surprised me was the quality. The front pages are made from this very soft paper and it feels good in my hands. For now 10/10
