I have a forest garden and grow a lot of native plants in the woods. For context, I've lived here for 15 years and never had a morel mushroom so I can confidently say it was the spores from this kit that finally did the trick. As everyone knows, Morels are finicky and conditions have to be just right or they won't fruit even in established areas. I'm in western NC and we had a lot of rain over the winter followed by a period of very cold nights and warm days in early April of this year. Low and behold, I thought I was hallucinating when I saw the first morel peeking it's head out of the leaves in mid April! They came up in a small area under tulip poplar trees surrounded by trillium and jack-in-the pulpit. I should add that I used rainwater as the directions suggested, but I added a little salt and some molasses to the mix to create more of a slurry. Someone had suggested this and I thought it couldn't hurt. I had poured the mixture on the ground in this area three years ago and was disappointed but not surprised when I didn't see any morels the following spring. I had given up hope but now I realize I just needed patience! I definitely recommend these morel spores but not if you are looking for instant gratification! Review: Waste of money - I did EVERYTHING as described and not one mushroom grew! Complete waste of money! DO NOT BUY!

Success!!!
Made 2- 30' raised beds last Fall. Beds: sandy loam, gypsum, Lyme, black med. coarse wood mulch, western bark, partially burnt oak chunks, straw, wood ash, fallen maple leaves, coffee grounds. Beds about 12" tall. Turned the soil 3 times. I placed several cinder blocks on top of the Beds. 2 of the 5 morels grew inside the cinder blocks. I did buy 3 different sawdust spawn from Marky Mark's on Amazon, made a spore slurry with 3 of those and dumped the slurry all over the Beds. There appears to be 2 maybe 3 different strains, so I believe we're viable. Yes, it's important you get a viable product, but it's equally important your soil contents are morel friendly as the above list is. I have about $400 invested in the 2 raised beds, but believe once well established, they'll yield much more. Everything I did, I found online. Also, watched all the YouTube videos about growing morels, spore slurries, soil PH, and raised beds.

1-2 years
Package came. Looked like sawdust. Size 6" by 6" by 2.5". Soaked them 24 hours and planted them in last year burnt area. Waiting, Waiting........hoping maybe this year, but maybe next. I will keep you posted. By the time they spout, maybe this burn area will have other morels next year or year after. Fire July 2019, no morels this year in the area. Maybe, at the very least a couple will sprout next year and mine, planted in my areas, should be plentiful. So far as of 8/22/20, nothing.

No instructions, just a sandwich bag of saw dust.
Thought I was getting a "kit", not just a bag of saw dust that may or may not have spores in it.
