I try and I try
I gave a 5 star review bc the product IS fresh and made with healthy ingredients for a balanced squirrel diet. HOWEVER for 15yrs niw 99% of all rescue baby squirrels never ever want it. Grrrr. It gets wasted or freezer burn over time. I want it to work so bad for dietary convenience but it never ever works for me. I can only think perhaps I spoiled them with fresh daily prepped veges, seed and filberts (the healthiest for them of all nuts to choose from) I just don't understand unless a squirrel is absolutely famished maybe he'll eat it but I can't do that everyday to find out

Wonderful for squirrel rehab!
Henry's 💯! It can be difficult to get an orphaned or injured wild squirrel to eat anything, but every kind of squirrel we help rehabilitate loves these! 🙌

Arrived in good condition
I rescued a baby squirrel which appears to be about 6-7 weeks old. After bottle feeding the first week with some special milk formula and giving small pieces of fruits and veggies , I ordered these Henry's bites and received them in fresh condition. "Murphy" loves the food. It's the only food when given to him that he will snatch it up and go hide in the back of his cage to eat it. If I try to touch him while he has the food in his hands he will sort of "growl" at me saying "leave me alone to eat my Henry Bite". I will purchase these again.

A little pricey, but a healthier alternative for my squirrel friends
I feed some of the squirrels in the neighborhood, but I get a little self conscious about always feeding them nuts since I realize these are more like treats and shouldn't be the backbone of their diet. Especially during mating season when there are so many pregnant females, it feels nice to be able to offer a more well-rounded and nutritious option with calcium, etc. I take one of these from the freezer and toss it in the microwave for 15 seconds to thaw it out. I usually split them in half before giving them to the squirrels, since I've noticed they are a lot more likely to bury them when it's whole. Most of the squirrels enjoy the blocks, but some ignore them for a while hoping for an almond or walnut 🤷♂️. The females tend to be less picky, so maybe they really do need the extra nutrition.
