No-Tool Fin Screw & Plate for Longboard and SUP, M4-0.7 Stainless Steel Center Fin Box Screw, 2-Pack or 3-Pack

These "no tool" fin screws work well; they seemed like a nice luxury, and as a same-day item they helped fill out another order that I wanted to get that day. I've been really happy with the purchase. I remove my fin after each session (to make it easier to stack multiple boards in my Subaru Outback) and haven't experienced any difficulty attaching or removing the fin. I was originally worried these screws would seize up and be hard to remove by hand, this hasn't been an issue, although I do see some rust on the threads and base. I suspect frequent removal helps prevent any seizing issues. Neither have I had any issues with them being loose after a session -- I tighten them to a reasonable hand tightness without putting too much force into it. I would recommend them if you want to easily swap fins on your longboard. I've only used the one so far, nice to get three to have backups or change out the screws on some of my other boards. O-ring still seems to keep the screw tight after about 2 months of regular weekend sessions.

These are perfect. This year I purchased a PuraVita-Surfset Jetsetter for use on Lake Superior and everywhere else. My first day playing in the waves I lost the screw that came with my board and almost my fin!!! My local shop was out so I ended up here. I feel a set of three is good for the cost and instillation was brainless. It feels super secure, I like the addition of the paddle/o-ring (not sure what to call it). My biggest suggestion/question is how the heck do I carry a spare without loosing it? I want a little pouch that could attach to the key ring in my life jacket so I never have to fear loosing a fun again! Will buy again but hopefully won't have to ;)

Great solution! After getting my new board I was out on the water and wondering why the thing was acting strange- after getting back to shore realized I'd lost the fin screw and so my fin was just flopping around. (So glad it is designed in a way that one doesn't loose the fin also!) I bike trailer my board down a bumpy dirt road to the water so I think all that bouncing around might promote the screw vibrating loose. I like these screws because now I can check it each time I go out to paddle to make sure it's secure. Plus I can easily move the fin back if I'm going on a long straight cruise etc. I like that I don't have to haul a screw driver around, or keep track of a screw driver. The head does poke out beyond the board but easy to turn it parallel with the fin to reduce drag.

Needed these to replace a part on my inflatable SUP. Perfect fit for cheap.

Screw part fits my board and will work to hold fin in place, but the piece that holds screw to the fin, is to wide to fit into the fin assembly on bottom of the board. Screw is just loose when fin is not attached to the board. Hopefully don't lose it. LOL!!!

Lost the original screw and hold down nut for my SUP. These tool-less bolts are perfect! Able to get the board back on the water! Also changed the storage shelves for the SUPs and unfortunately not enough clearance between the fin and top board. Swapped the screw out with one of the toolless ones so now it is easy to install the fin before we go out and remove it before putting it on shelf! Highly recommend this item—nice that it is a 3 pack!

I was personally addressed via email by the co-owner Kristi @ Santa Barbara Surfing. I truly genuine company that puts their customers first. The "no tool" fasteners I use for my 9'0" longboard centerfin. The reason why I was interested in purchasing this product was because it is made of stainless steel which is an ideal metal for salt water conditions. Second, is the fact that it is tool less I can adjust the fin without specific hand tools, just a hand is needed. The positioning of the fin can be adjusted while I'm in the water! Also, if I hit a turtle or a rock, because it's only hand tight, the fin has some "give" and won't obliterate the fin box. Last but not least Kristy immediately emails me asking if the shipping was prompt and kindly asked for a product review. I don't usually respond to product reviews..sorry Amazon. But I felt this one was worth responding to because SBS is a small business. Coming from Hilo Hawaii I am all for supporting small businesses.
