OXO Good Grips 6.22 Qt Salad Spinner, Vegetable Washer with Bowl & Strainer

I love to cook and bake, all of our meals are eaten at home with food I prepare. Fresh leafy greens, fruits, and vegetables are star s n our meals. I decided to upgrade my preparation technique by purchasing this OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner. Absolutely thrilled with this purchase! - It actually works! Sized as advertised and easy to operate. Makes rinsing and drying fresh leafy greens, fruits, and vegetables easy and fun! - Care Suggestion: The product information states that all pieces of the salad spinner are top rack dishwasher safe. However, I do NOT recommend cleaning the spinner in the dishwasher, as the caustic dishwashing detergent and heat - particularly from the drying cycle - can degrade the plastic and silicone components of the spinner. I recommend hand washing for best care. - The Pump: The pop up pump is loud when you disengage it, as shown in the video. I was very startled the first time I disengaged the pump, I did not expect the pop up noise to be so loud! (And yes, I had a good laugh at myself!) - A terrific value and a handy product that will be a workhorse in your kitchen. - User Manual: You can download the 1-page user manual from the Amazon product page. I have been eating a lot of blueberries (smoothies), grapes, lettuce, etc. for the past several months, but have been rinsing only small amounts as I need them. I purchased this (large glass) salad spinner to help me prepare entire 32oz/2lb bunches of grapes, an entire head of lettuce, etc. to semi food prep en masse for the week. I had usually rinsed my grapes under a metal colander, then loosely lined them up on the terry side of a clean cotton dish towel, in the middle (photo). Then I fold over approx. a third of the towel to cover some of the grapes, fold the other third over that, completely covering the grapes, then gently roll with hands in a similar motion to using a rolling pin. This completely dries the grapes. I was a disappointed that using the spinner only resulted in a mere 3/4 tablespoon of water (photo), and it didn't come close to eliminating the need to towel dry. HOWEVER, I will say that the towel didn't feel nearly as wet, and it took less effort and time to roll the grapes dry. So all the water droplets on the inner sides of the spinner bowl must've made a difference. 🤔 Thankfully, rinsing/spinning the lettuce had a completely different outcome. There were still some small water droplets 💦 on the lettuce after spinning, but nowhere near how wet it is when not using it. On nights where I'm serving salad, there is no need to towel dry, just plate and serve. But for weekly food prepping, I go ahead and gently dab a cotton towel over the lettuce leaves to help prevent any possible sogginess longer term. All in all, I'll probably keep the spinner. The glass bowl appears high quality, substantial in weight and sturdiness, and can be used as a serving bowl for more than just salads. You can pour a bag of pretzels, chips, etc. for a gathering, use as a fruit bowl, serve yogurt parfaits, pasta or potato salad, etc. Plus, borosilicate glass is lead-free and cadmium-free, which is important to me as an ovarian cancer survivor.

I love this spinner! It's Huge! It's very sturdy and works very well. Easy to clean so I highly recommend.

I’ve gone through several salad spinners over the years, and this OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner is by far the best one I’ve owned. The pump mechanism is incredibly smooth and easy to use, and it spins lettuce, herbs, and other vegetables dry in just a few seconds. The brake button is a great feature because it stops the basket immediately without having to wait for it to slow down on its own. The bowl itself is sturdy and attractive enough to use as a serving bowl, which means fewer dishes to wash. What impressed me most is how effective it is at removing water. My lettuce stays crisp longer in the refrigerator, and salads don’t end up watery anymore. The non-slip base keeps the bowl steady on the countertop, and the lid locks down for easier storage. Gift for my wife. Not sure how long we used this. But so useful for prep salad greens. Been used over 2 years, so easy to use and easy to clean, still nice and clean and functional. Durability is not concern. Drain water so efficient without big noise. Highly recommend (also good design)

We are fans of OXO products. I like this salad spinner because of the ease of use and size. Sometimes I didn’t even rinse our salad, but no more. It is durable, easy to store and clean. I am happy with my purchase.

I can’t praise this spinner enough! I compared many spinners and am glad that I paid more for this brand. It is beautifully constructed and the design with locking pump action mechanism couldn’t be more efficient at spinning lettuce. Plus the design allows easy storage in my cabinet. I also like that the top can be disassembled for cleaning.

Does the job well. Has a nice, sturdy, quality feel about it. Great addition to our kitchen.

Overall I am happy with this purchase as this salad spinner works well for up to 2 pax servings: - 3-in-1 feature (plastic bowl, basket and pump): I can soak the salad leaves in the bowl, take out the basket to remove the water and put it back to spin off the water. - Easy and fast: Only take 2-3 pump to spin off the water from the salad leaves very fast. I can make a salad within 10 mins with the spinner. Before this, I normally prepare and leave the salad leaves to dry in the fridge over night, or if not I have to use kitchen towel to dry the excess water - For small household: It works very well for up to 2 pax (normal serving). I think it’s not an issue as I can just do 2 to 3 rounds if I want to make bigger servings - Easy storage: The 3-in-1 feature saves storage space - Quality: The quality of the plastic bowl, basket and pump is value for money. My experience using this spinner is not too bad. This is a salad spinner - to spin off the water from the salad leaves after rinsing/ washing. If you expect to use this spinner to remove/dry all the water after washing the salad leaves, this is not for you. The salad leaves will still be wet. You will probably need a dryer.

Does its job effortlessly. Genuine. First buy from this site. Really happy. Oxo has some great products and this is one of them.
