Chipmunk brothers Alvin, Simon and Theodore see the world with three girlfriends, the Chipettes. Animated. Review: A Loved Classic on DVD to share with my daughter - This is one of my favorite movies when I was a child, and I purchased it so that my daughter can enjoy it now. it's a fun filled adventure with memorable songs and humor, featuring the Chipmunks. This is not the new 3D version that's on the DisneyJunior Channel these are the old episodes put on DVD. They are great and bring back so many memories. The quality isn't as great as the new ones but its what we had back in the day. If you don't get to movin' and shakin' to the Woolly Bully and some of the other Chipmunk's cover songs well you're just a stick in the mud. lol In this movie join Alvin, Simon, and Theodore as they graduate from their weekly TV adventures to the big screen in the exciting, feature-length animated tale The Chipmunk Adventure. The three boys use a clever scheme with a tape recorder to trick their babysitter, Rebecca Miller, into letting them out of the house. The Chipmunks con the woman into believing that David Seville has granted them permission to set off on a trek around the world, in pursuit of the diamond smugglers Claudia and Claus. Of course, the boys make a point to solicit help from their female friends, The Chipettes, who excitedly agree to tag along on this globe-charting odyssey. A musical to boot, The Chipmunk Adventure features the boys singing such numbers as "Diamond Dolls," and the rollicking and rousing "Woolly Bully."The Chipettes join in as well, with the memorable tune "The Girls of Rock 'n' Roll." Disclaimer - I purchased this item for full price and am using it for personal use. Review: A childhood favorite - Loved this movie as a kid. It was fun to watch it with my child that loves all of the newer chipmunks shows.

Best. Childhood. Movie. Ever.
I rented this for my 3 year old to watch because I have fond memories of watching this back in the 90s with my cousins. What I love most about this is how the villains are constantly chain smoking and drinking cocktails, no one seems upset that children/chipmunks are traveling around the world by themselves, borderline culturally insensitive scenes, and somehow hot air balloons are able to travel from Cairo to Antartica in less than 24 hrs. With all that said you can't beat this gem of a Chipmunk Movie! The premise is Dave is going to Europe and Alvin, of course, wants to go with him, but can't. Dave leaves the Chipmunks back home and Alvin becomes obsessed with traveling around the world. A wealthy diamond smuggling couple over hear Alvin's assertion that he could beat Brittany (Chippette) in a race around the world and use the Chipmunks and Chipettes to deliver what are probably blood diamonds around the world. As you can image, chaos ensues, everyone sings, and the diamond caper is eventually discovered. Totally wanted to be a Chippette, totally wanted to travel around the world in a hot balloon, and totally wanted to have Claudia's (villain) late 80s/early 90s chic bedroom when I was younger. Be warned! There are depictions of smoking and drinking! There are bad guys who fight. There are culturally insensitive moments, like Looney Tunes; however, this movie is permanently engraved in my memory as one of the great movies of my childhood. My own 3 year old would not move from where he sat until it was over. And that is proof alone that movie desires five stars.

Childhood classic
Chipmunk Adventure has been my favorite since I was a kid back in the late 80s and 90s. I had this VHS before and now I got it on DVD. This film had cute, sweet and touching moments. I will make this short. Dave had left on a business trip to Europe and the boys are being watched by Miss Miller. The Chipmunks competed against the Chipettes in an arcade game until two of them started bragging that they can beat each other the game in real life. Their conservation was overheard by a pair of wealthy siblings who arranged everything. They gave the kids hot air balloons and dolls. They travel to a certain location, they drop a doll, receive another doll, travel other location, repeat until they complete everything and return home. Simple game or is it? The kids travel the world not only for the competition but for fun and sightseeing. The kids don’t know that this competition is a scam and the wealthy siblings are diamond smugglers and they were watched by the Interpol. They were dropping dolls filled with diamonds and the dolls they received were filled with cash. The kids have to dodge several obstacles like hungry sharks, Interpol goons, a spoiled Egyptian prince who is in love with Brittany and his cobras, rock and roll loving natives and their hungry crocodiles, even Dave who nearly caught them. This film had iconic songs like The Girls of Rock and Roll, Getting Lucky, My Mother, Wolly Bully, and Diamond Dolls. If you have children, buy this film and share your childhood to them.

This is a very special movie to me.
This movie, I will keep very close to my heart. This was one of the hardest movies to find and I almost didn't buy it because of the price. I use to watch this movie with my Mema(grandmother) who I was very close to, when I was kid in the '90s. She bought it on VHS for my brother and I. Each time I wanted to watch this movie she would put it on and watch it with me. We would laugh and sing along, I would either sit on her lap or right next to her I would practically be in her lap. She passed away when I was 6 from Cancer. So being able to have this movie again and being able to watch it is almost like being In her presence. When I watch this, I'm a little kid again sitting on the couch with his mema, with not a single care in the world. This movie will always be close to my heart. This is a great family movie. Full of adventure and laughs and an amazing soundtrack. The songs will definitely get stuck in your head. I'm glad I convinced myself to buy it.
