Very happy with this well made, quality watch!
I own both this watch and the Casio AE2000W-1AV and both of them are excellent. This watch looks really nice and surprisingly has some weight to it - but not too much. Like the AE2000W-1AV, which is lighter weight but just as high quality, both fit well on my wrist. And speaking of wrist size, these watches are not oversized and fit nicely. The 3 graphic areas above the time are, in my opinion, a little gimmicky but serve useful purposes - if only they were a little easier to read. The first graphic to the left is a 10 second indicator - for every 10 seconds elapsed, a horizontal bar fills the area and does so until 60 seconds have elapsed, and then it starts over again from the bottom. (I guess kind of like a game of Tetris, but in reverse.) The middle graphic is a traditional looking analog clock face that shows you the current home time zone. Suppose this is handy if you're looking through various time zones and features on the watch and want a quick, at a glance reminder of the home city time. Finally, the last indicator on the right shows watch settings that are current active/inactive (i.e. hourly chime, alarm, and mute). The face is large and easy to read with clear font next to each function button also being easy to see. But you will have to read the manual to set it up. And as for set up, it's really not that complicated - but then again, I'm one of the few who enjoys reading the instructions. Incidentally, some reviewers may complain that the watch light doesn't stay on long enough. By default it's set to last 1.5 seconds but during setup you can change that to 3 seconds - and that's what I've done. The lighting is sufficient but could be better - would rather it light the whole face of the watch but for what you really need to see in the dark (time, day, date), that's good enough for me. Overall I find these both to be really nice time pieces. I've looked through so many watches and each time I kept coming back to these two. They're well made, nice looking, and seem that they could take a bit of a beating - not that I'd want to. I think the AE2000W-1AV (made of resin) is good for weekend wear while the AE2000WD-1AV in silver is better looking for work or casual going out events. Finally, a 10 year battery is a nice feature but from what I can see, doesn't look like it'd be all that difficult to replace it on my own.

Why spend more? Classy Watch at a Great Price!
Very attractive and pleasant to wear. The silver band contrast well with the black shading of the bezel. An inexpensive luxury that performs perfectly! Get one for yourself!

Casio Men's AW2000WD Digital Wristwatch
1. Delivery of my order: 5-star all the way. It came very quickly, arrived in perfect condition. 2. The product: I had previously replaced my aged, but still functional Casio digital with a Casio analog watch--slave to fashion? Problem was that it was difficult to see where the hands were, much less to see the date (no day). Since it was inexpensive to begin with, I decided to go back to digital. The AE2000WD does a lot of things. This means that you HAVE to read the instructions in order to set it up properly. If you do that, the watch will do just about anything you want. Okay, it doesn't make a cup of good coffee, but who wants to pay for a watch that can do that? Seriously, it's a great timepiece. It comes from the factory with a band that would probably fit the Jolly Green Giant properly, but for a very modest sum a jeweler removed 3 or 4 links and it now fits like a charm. I like the stainless band. Unlike other Casio watches I have owned that came with plastic bands that ultimately broke because like other normal humans I sweat on my wrists, this band is going to last forever. I also like the idea of a 10-year battery...original equipment on this watch. (We'll see if it lasts ten years or not.) The digits on the face of the watch are easy to read, even if you aren't wearing your glasses, though the day of the week and the date appear in smaller, thinner letters and figures. I'm looking forward to learning to use the other features of the watch--daylight savings time, etc.--in addition to the capabilities that I already know and use--stopwatch, countdown timer, etc. Oh yes, it is a little larger than watches I have owned before, but looks good even on a normal-sized wrist. I haven't mentioned price yet. This is not a cheap watch, nor is it expensive. Amazon sells it at a price that many people will find rational. In terms of what you get for what you pay, it's a bargain. In closing, yes, I'd buy this again knowing what I know now, and yes, I'd recommend it to friends.

Low chime volume.
Pretty solid watch. Has a classic vibe and is great for daily wearing. The light is old school so it's dimmer than new watches. Maybe it's the loud rock and roll music I've listened to my whole life but the chime alarms are hard to hear. Links are easy to adjust and sits nicely on my wrist.

A bit thick but nice metal digital watch
A bit shocked as to how much more weighty this thing feels compared to the other AE world time watches. Like the resin counterpart this one has steel on top of the case along with it's bracelet. The links are hollow so be wary if you have extra hair on your wrist. Removing the links is a standard affair, I just use a thin flathead and adjust accordingly. I do like the micro adjust holes on the clasp and made it fit my 7.5 inch wrist just right. However the bracelet seems to have been locked to a specific angle so any wrist larger than mine might not fit well. But I still like this one since it's substantial without being unwieldy.

9 Years Later
I have owned my Casio AE2000WD-1AV (Stainless band) since 2017. My only complaint (a lame one) is that the original battery only lasted nine years! ; ) I purchased this watch because as a commercial pilot, I deal with multiple time zones globally and daily for many logistical reasons (schedule, flight log, duty rig, etc.), especially in UTC, which this has in its 24-zone database. Once one carefully reads the above average user manual and becomes familiarized with the programming and logic of the buttonology, with one, two, or three button pushes, this watch's functionality, for less than $60, is far more capable than fumbling fingers over a $2K Longines GMT Hydroconquest or better yet, a $25K Rolex GMT Master after every 3 time-zone duty day or on the 1st of a month when you wake up to your analog showing a "31". 12 or 24 hr. display? Standard or Daylight time? No problem. Alarms? Timers? Plenty. It ain't too pretty, but If you're a professional aviator, this watch will serve you well and take a beating. The night light is somewhat wimpy but adequate enough to read the display in a dark cockpit at night. I actually attribute my heavy use of the light over time to the slightly shorter life of the original battery. I've worn my Casio while doing some light diving 30-35' with no adverse effects, but would not recommend making a habit of it. When my jeweler replaced the battery, he urged me not to get the watch wet anymore because the waterproofing seal had to be broken, and may only be replaced by Casio. Instead, I'll be buying this same watch again in a few minutes. I keep wanting to own and wear a Longines Hydro GMT to work someday - but I'd sure look stupid with a watch on each wrist...

...Trying to get another one.
I have had this watch for several years now, & I'm trying to buy another one. A while back, I ordered another one from Amazon, & it never came. They canceled the order & refunded my money. I thought it was because it was no longer made. I just found out that It wasn't discontinued by the manufacturer. & I could get it again, so I ordered another one. I hope it comes because I really like it. It looks great and holds up extremely well. The battery has lasted for as long as I've had the watch. The alarms work & the sound is loud enough for me to hear them. The band is adjustable & fits a normal sized man's wrist. I've read all of these other reviews & wonder if maybe they got a dud. MINE WORKS FINE!!! I'M VERY HAPPY WITH IT. I HOPE THE NEW ONE COMES & THEY DON'T CANCEL THE ORDER ON ME AGAIN. UPDATE: THEY DID IT TO ME AGAIN!!! The order was canceled. So I ordered a different watch. It is suppose to come on Thursday August 12, 2021. We will see of it is as good as this one.

Reliability at an Affordable Price!
Hands down one of the best watches of Casio's AE line. I wear this on my right wrist, as opposed to my left with my other watches. It sits well, time was simple to adjust. The light certainly can be better, but it's good enough. Comes with a selection of cities to choose from plus dual time. Weight isn't bad. It's not bulky like the Pro Trek but still has the toughness you would expect because of its build. And at 200m Water Resistance at 30 dollars, perhaps even cheaper? The AE2000 is a steal.
