You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy?!: The Classic Self-Help Book for Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder [Kelly, Kate, Ramundo, Peggy, Hallowell M.D., Edward M.] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy?!: The Classic Self-Help Book for Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder Review: EVERYONE needs this book!!! Seriously! - I haven't finished reading this book yet, but I already plan on buying another. This book is for anyone! Whether you are diagnosed, undiagnosed(and experiencing the symptoms) or someone who just wants wants know how to better understand a loved one with ADHD. I'm someone who hasn't been diagnosed, but I was/am more than confident that I struggle with ADHD. This book gave me so much information that I didn't even know about and made me feel so validated and understood. I was able to read this book, take some of the information I have learned (a whole lot so far because I haven't finished it), and express it to a doctor. I'm now receiving treatment and I feel more confident talking about the things I struggle with because this book just made everything *click* for me. Because of that, I was able to get on medication for treatment! With that being said, this book doesn't just focus on medication, therapy, etc. It also provides a lot of different tips, tools, ideas, etc that can help help with day to day life. This is great for those who don't have access to a doctor or certain resources to get a diagnosis and treatment. I believe everyone should have this book; teachers, doctors, therapists, parents, ADDers, employers! Seriously, this book is worth it. And if you have ADHD, share the information you learn with people in your life so they can better understand you. Highly recommend! ❤ Review: A Good Resource for ADHD Adults - Bought this for my adult ADHD son. He was diagnosed with this very complicated condition when he was in preschool! It was not well understood then, we learned as he grew. He is a very successful data analyst for a major corporation and has a great life he can manage well. He really liked this book and said it was very helpful to give him new ideas as well as reinforcement for modifications he uses now. He found it factual and informative.

Essential Reading for Adults with ADD (esp. Women)
It's incredible all the things you don't know about ADD and your own mind because most ADD knowledge is based on children (mostly white, mostly boys). What really struck me were the anecdotes from real adults with ADD—I couldn't believe there were so many people who experience the same strange behaviors and thoughts I do. Besides being validating, this book contains essential tips and tricks for working WITH your ADD brain (not against) that I haven't seen anywhere else—at least not written in such an easy-to-digest manner. If you have ADD you may be wary of buying a book as it can be difficult to get through. Luckily the way this one is structured makes it easy to pick up or drop off whenever you want. Even if you only read the first few chapters it's still worth the price.

The book hit on some relatable points
The author does a pretty descent job on educating the ADD reader and having them self aware of their condition. It also does a descent job on providing tips on how to handle everyday challenges. A good read.

You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy?!
I was diagnosed as having ADHD about 8 years at age 45 then started taking meds which helped me out a great deal. All my life I knew I wasn't "normal" and considered going to a psychiatrist in my 20's and 30's but couldn't find the courage until things got so bad in my 40's I called my family doctor for help. He directed me to a psychiatrist for testing. In hindsight, waiting as long as I did to ask for help was STUPID of me and a huge waste of more productive time with my wife and children. I wasn't a terrible husband and father but wasn't very good one either. I could have been so much more involved in life in so many more ways had I reached out for help decades earlier. Reading You Mean I'm not Lazy, Stupid or crazy? helped me understand ADHD and myself to a much greater degree than I ever have before. Many times in the book I thought the authors must have been following me around and writing down what I was doing. At least now I can claim there was a book written about me. You will discover that ADD / ADHD comes in many shapes, sizes and colors. If you are already getting help with your own personal ADHD challenges, this book will further your knowledge and understanding. Coming from someone with a lifetime of experience with ADHD, I want to strongly encourage you to reach out for help and it starts with reading You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy?! NOW IS THE TIME TO GET A FIRM GRIP ON YOUR LIFE. The first steps in no particular order is to call your doctor and read this book to learn what questions to ask. JUST DO IT! you won't be sorry.

Everything you've always wanted to know about ADHD...
...But were afraid to ask. So you just got the Dr's blessing that you have, or always had but didn't know, and now the slew of questions have engulfed you. I came upon a recommendation for this book from an article on ADHD and gave me the answers I've been looking for, literally, all my life up to now and I'm in my low 50's! You'll be amazed to finally get answers to, Why do I.. why cant I... why won't I... Finally understanding that you're NOT Stupid, Lazy, or Crazy. You'll get insights into your new found "super powers". Finally get insights on how you can turn a lifetime of negatives into positives. If anythingm to finally understand, "it's not my fault " and forgive yourself. Now you can move forward. This book is a must in understanding your ADHD! One size does NOT fit all. Buy the book, grab your highlighter or notebook and move forward. You can now be in control, at last!

Feels like its written for kids. I personally didn't find it helpful or enjoyable. I'd rather read or reccomend Power of habit.

This is a really good book. It did bring tears to my eyes at points, where some real life stories mirrored mine. It opens up your mind and shows that you are not alone. There is plenty of information and you can select bits you want to read at will.
