Q: How can I contol the power to sound bar with TV remote

You can't control the sound bar with the TV remote. I'm assuming you have connected the optical cable from the TV to the sound bar. The optical output from the TV is always on so you don't need the TV remote to control sound output. The sound bar has its own remote. Once its connected to the TV by the optical cable use the TV remote to turn the TV's sound all the way down then use the sound bar's remote to turn it on and to control sound levels.

Q: Why can i only see one hdmi port on the roll-over imaging?

Please contact Amazon regarding that query, The Tv does come with 3 HDMI ports.

Q: does anyone who has the panasonic tx-40gx800b know why you can't get teletext by pressing the text button, only get text by the red button

If you are connected to the internet, only the Red button service will be available, for the teletext service the TV does need to be disconnected from the internet.

Q: is there a normal old fashioned headphone out socket on this ?

There is a 3.5mm headphone socket that doubles as a sub-woofer output. You must select whether you wish to use headphones or a sub-woofer – you cannot use both at once.
