Garmin PT10 Dog Device Red Collar (Pro 70/Pro 550)

This has changed the game in our dogs’ training. We never use the shock feature unless they’re putting themselves in danger, but they respond promptly to the beeping and vibrating settings. We use this instead of a fence in our yard, and we’ve been able to train the dogs to know where their boundaries are. It only took about a week for them to learn with these collars! And we LOVE that they can be on the same remote and we can switch between them so quickly.

Garmin makes great products and this is no different. We like being able to warn the pups about barking with the beep. Very easy to sync with the remote we already have. It's a bit pricey, but a Garmin bark collar alone is $130 so for a little bit more money this was worth it. We've never had an issue with range as long as the battery is charged. The battery also lasts very long so no concerns there.

My main reason for buying this product was to keep my dog from barking incessantly all day long. I have neighbors who work in hospitals and fire departments that sleep during the day. For anybody that thinks this is cruel in anyway consider the fact that without this my dog would have to sit inside in his kennel all day. Instead, he gets to run around the yard and play all he wants to. I like the fact that when you turn it off, it tells you how many times it stopped the barking. Almost like a tattletale lol I haven’t used the training yet but I’m sure as good as this is. It will be fine. The collar is thin and the piece will twist so I got a different collar. That’s wider. I've got two Shepards, one German and one Australian. They are my personal alarm system with the Amazon driver comes to deliver packages. Problem - I also work the night shift and need to get sleep while the Amazon driver delivered packages. Solution - Garmin PT10 collar with Bark Control. I use the PT10 with the Garmin Sport Pro hand held device. It was easy to program and the results were immediate. The battery life fits my needs. I use the collar for 12 - 14 hours and then charge it while I am at work. The two dogs still romp and play rough. The collars have stood up to some pretty healthy rompings. If you are looking for a quick, immediate correction to a barking dog, this is your collar and Garmin Sport Pro is your system.

I have had the sport pro system for quite a while and been very satisfied with it. I bought mine originally at sportsman's Warehouse. From Amazon I ordered this additional PT series collar but it did not work very long. After about a week the range fell off and only worked at 10 to 15 ft or less. Garmin is a very high quality brand although they aren't as good now as one there's tri-tronics. Amazon did not offer a replacement option but allowed me to return this at no charge. I will most definitely be buying another one and expect it to work just as well as my others. I will update my review and bump it up to five stars as long as I don't get another defective one. I would still highly recommend these collars because the retailer is actually Garmin and my previous experience with them has been exactly as it should be. ***Update 11/2023***- Got a replacement and works exactly how it should. Would recommend, just test it thoroughly when you first get it to ensure it's not a defective unit.

Works well. Syncs easily with our system. Have yet to see how the "bark" deterrent works. My little one is still persistently barking from our windows at anyone who walks down the sidewalk. The only thing I see that might be an issue is the collar material. We had an older collar made of a thicker, more durable seeming plastic. The attachments for the unit broke before that collar ever showed signs of wear (also Tritronics before they were bought by Garmin).

I’ve been using these for years and have yet to replace one. I use them daily in my profession and love Garmin. The charging system is quick and simple. The auto-escalate bark control allows learning and decisions from the dog. Also, when turning it off, it will blink to show how many times it was activated. The electronic stimulation should NEVER BE USED TO TRAIN A DOG. If your dog is already trained and fully responds to their command structure, this is a great reinforcement tool. I rarely have to use anything but the Tone setting. Also, the light is bright and allows you to visually track your dog in dusk and dark.

I owned their previous model I literally had it through 2 dog. I purchased it for my Doberman pinscher who lived to be 10 1/2 years old once he passed I used it on my new Doberman who is now 6 years old. I got 16 years out of it. This new unit is built a little bit more rugged you have to get used to the multi-functions (regarding the bark control) I also notice the battery life on the collar runs down quicker than the previous units. Now those are the facts but I can say I am happy with the unit now that I know the things that I have shared with you. Overall it works good. I would buy it again.

Same price as those other American company that wanted an extra $60 USD for shipping. Great Garmin product, right price.

Garmin continues the tritronics line of world's best e-collars with its best yet. Love the built in tone and LED light features. Works flawlessly, holds charge for days and it's indestructible.

I keep coming back to Garmin collars. I have two well behaved dogs now and only one remote! Dogs are very responsive and turn on a dime when recalled with the tone. The bark limited lets us sleep in when the squirrels are acting up at 6am. Will probably always use training collars with my dogs. Gives us both the freedom of being off leash, but the control of being on leash. Everybody is happy!
