Lubegard 63016 Platinum Universal ATF Protectant, 15 oz.

This transmission additive will literally save the life of your transmission. Follow the directions and use 1 oz. per quart of transmission fluid. It stops torque converter shudder but mainly keeps it running cooler and lubricates well. Trust me, I've used this product for years and I swear by it. Lubegard is a GREAT transmission additive that will get you the miles you want out of your transmission.

My 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee was starting to have some shifting issues and some shuddering along with noise and vibration at certain speeds especially on longer trips (200 miles +/-). The existing trans fluid looked red and still mostly clear and the level appeared to be full (no leakage). So, I took out 10 oz of trans fluid with a manual fluid pump through the trans dip stick tube. I then put in 10 oz of this Lubegard Platinum ATF Protectant along with resetting the ECM by removing the negative battery terminal connection 10+ minutes. Then I reconnected the battery and I let the car Idle for about 10 minutes. I then drove it mildly for about 20 miles and all of the issues mentioned above went away. I have since driven another 200 miles and the engine and transmission operate and shift as smooth as the day I bought the car. Problem solved! This was my first time using it and I am impressed... great value for the money vs a transmission service or replacement. It was an easy fix to something I thought could end up being very expensive.

2013 F150 Crew 3.5 Ecoboost 270k miles - mmm orig engine and trans. Maintenance is key. 5k oil changes and transmission and coolant drain and fill every 25k miles and these trucks last forever! Having used the red bottle on corvettes and older 5.4/6.2 F250/F350s i know this is a quality product, the Platinum is NOT available anywhere locally - in fact i didnt know it existed until YouTube. Several 09-14 F150 6 speed trans owners report remarkable results w the 6 speed shift smoothness after use. I had the 19mm plug pulled out of the upper pan mount and noted perfectly appearing fluid no discoloration or burnt smell. Added Platinum solely as a future preventative measure prior to a 1300 mile trip. Figured if it does do anything for an otherwise normal transmission ill surely find out after driving 1300 miles. Results: i noticed after about 400 miles of 80+ mph driving that shifting, while computer controlled, seemed a bit firmer and significantly faster. Prior to the addition of this product i also reset the transmission learned adaptations as well as all saved shift modes and all learned modes and driving styles. That makes an immediate and noticeable difference in shift points and especially torque converter lockup points and changes tow/haul mode behavior. Again YMMV and while i do notice a very mild but good improvement in a 260k++ mile transmission, since using this ive had a couple "hiccups" with 1-2 shifts that are concerning. One occasion in a parking lot at low speed the 1-2 shift was so harsh i thought something in the rear axle broke. It also did that once on a low speed turn a few days prior.It did not throw a code though and i do have the lead frame recall transmission -.recall has been done 8 years ago. Nothing but 25k fluid/filtet changes since. I recommend Platinum for all Ford 6 and 10 speed transmissions and especially the 4R100/5R100 seem to love 2 bottles of this fluid.

I have a Dodge Dakota with high mileage and a rebuilt transmission that is acting up with bumpy shifting ...I added this within the first mile all went away. If you are looking for a quick fix for this issue please try this you have nothing to loose.. I found that this may not be a real fix but it will buy you quite sometime. If you keep adding ever once in a while your problems will go away. So do not listen to the negative reviews and go ahead and buy this you will be glad you did

Tried this product. Drove for a bit after use. I did not get the continued experience like some people however I think my transmission was just too badly damaged.

I have always trusted lubegard since 1990. I use it in all my cars. It helps the transmission work better, cooler and much more quiet. I love this. I always add this in all my cars when I changed the transmission fluid. It very powerful. It make the trans work so much better. No shuttering or jerking at all. It keeps the transmission clean and the fluid bright red. I'm very impressed with this stuff. I tried hundreds of other items on the market but this one is the very best. Must buy!!

Practically instant results for odd shifting on a 250k mile automatic.

My car is 10+ years old, and became more sluggish by the day since 7 years ago. No mechanic could identify the cause. The AT recently started to jerk when shifting gear and often produce the sound and vibration you get when trying to close a door that is large than its frame. I was certain that a $3000+ AT rebuild cost is just hours away, and it won't be worth it for such an old car. After hours of research, it's clear that I need at least try to change my AT fluid. Just by luck, the cheapest place (it's not one of those quick lube big chains) is a family owned small lube place that uses only genuine Honda fluids, yet quoting half the cost of the chain lube places. I later read that genuine Honda fluids have additives not found in other brands. After the ATF drain and fill (not flush - do NOT flush if you already have AT problem), the sluggishness that started 7 years ago (which was when some mechanic put in generic ATF) was instantly gone. Within a few hours, the jerky and banging shift improved by 70%, but not totally gone. Then I added around 4 oz of Lubegard, and started to look for improvement. But now I have a new problem, and it is "a very nice problem to have". I just can't notice any gear shift! The car goes from 0 to 65 mph, as if no shifting was done. But the car cannot logically go at 65 mph at 2000 rpm without somehow having shifted to 5th gear, and can't go up steep hill without having downshifted. It's just that the AT is now so quiet and smooth that it is just unreal, and I can't feel the shift points. Now that I have genuine honda ATF, and genuine honda motor oil, and I have just put in a bottle of techron, the car is now smoother and has more power than the day I first owned it. I have to change my foot pedal habit to make sure that the car does not accelerate too fast. I am writing this so that anyone else in my position would not despair before at least trying some cheap possible solutions. The total cost of my car's rebirth is $11 for the lubegard and $4 for the techron. The ATF and oil change are things that would have to be done anyways. Why not flush the AT? Try "flushing" an ice cube with sharp edges down your throat, and you would understand. Compare that with waiting till the ice melt bit by bit, and becomes fluid, and flow natural down. Instead of flushing the AT, do a standard drain and fill with honda fluid (or whatever premium best fluid you like, not generic cheap fluid), then drive the car for a few weeks, and do a standard drain and fill again. Metal bits that cause problem become ground up gradually and naturally, and flow away into the filter. Otherwise, you are basically trying to flush a wood log through a pipe, and get to find which one breaks first. To sum it up, premium ATF + motor oil + LG + techron gave me a new car. Sorted my Volvo s80 D5 autobox within 20 miles after a full fluid change, bottle of this and some lubeguard instant Shudder fix. Brilliant product.

I never thought I would put an additive in a ZF transmission, however I decided to take a chance with this one as my auto was starting to feel a bit tired. I am very glad I did the auto is now running better than ever, enhanced shifting patterns, staying in correct gear for longer, cooler and absolutely butter smooth changes. It took a good hour of driving for the electronics to relearn the new friction properties and then presto absolutely perfect. Don't be scared this product is excellent and is also backed up with OEM recommendations and approvals.
