Really good, worth the purchase.
I was surprised at the quality of this little scale. I also didn't read the instructions - just opened the battery cover, inserted the two supplied batteries and closed it up. The display showed all the 8888888s I waited, then touched the top of the scale, nothing. There was a little padlock icon in the top left corner of the display, I tried all choices of pressing the buttons, holding them down, both, one then the other. No change accept pressing the On/Off button did just that. Opened the booklet of instructions - good sign! They're in English, and readable. Flipped the scale over and moved the Lock/Unlock switch to Unlock! Duh! Ok, got past that. It's a really simple to use scale and the first that I have had in my kitchen. I've been using measuring cups & spoons for everything I've been following the Great British Baking show and they measure in metric (still amazes me that Americans still use 'Imperial' measurements - think about it) The scale measures in lbs & ozs, Grams, Fl.oz. and Ml. My concern was 'does it allow addition and subtraction - ie. Can I put some flour into a bowl and then add more or remove some to get to the right weight? YES! Process is simple. Turn the scale on (press the button) Put bowl on the scale and press the zero button (it's also the on/off button) now the scale shows 0oz - Add some flour, it shows the amount, add some more and it updates the displayed amount, scoop out some flour from the bowl and the display correctly displays the new amount. Cool. The finish is very nice, it appears to be easy to clean (wipe down with damp cloth) and does not take up much counter top. It arrived on time and was well packed.

Very easy to use
Very easy to use; I love the zero setting so you can first calibrate for the container and then weigh the contents. Great value for the money.

I received this scale to do an unbiased and honest review. I have an old and very accurate postal scale, so I was able to test this scale against one I know to be correct. It passed very well. This is a fabulous little scale. For one, it's not that little and comes very well packed, with simple easy to follow directions and a card to call the manufacturer if you have any problems. Ok, here is what you will find. 2 AAA batteries are included, so you can use it right out of the box. First off--it's easy to use--two buttons, one to turn on and tare/zero the item you are measuring's cup, glass or plate, to ensure you are only measuring what's in or on the container, and the other to change modes. This scale is wonderfully full featured--it does grams, pounds and ounces (up to 11 pounds) fluid ounces, and mls. Here's an easy test for accuracy--an older Canadian quarter weighs exactly 5 grams, the newer ones are 4 grams. Put a quarter on the scale and bingo--5 grams. Exactly right. I then tested it against my postal scale which only does pounds and ounces, and everything was within an ounce of each other's measurements, in this case I would tend to believe the new scale is actually more accurate. For some reason Amazon keeps sticking a picture of...speakers? I don't know exactly what, I've tried editing. Hopefully I've managed to delete that picture and add the correct ones. I have added pictures of my old postal scale, and pictures of it measuring a quarter and my huge cup of tea--which is exactly correct at 25 fluid ounces. I have a water bottle that holds 750 mls, but I don't have an empty bottle to tare/zero first--however it measured it without being zeroed at 790 mls, which is probably also correct if you add in the weight of the bottle. Once I empty that bottle I will measure again. All in all--for the price I would buy it in a heartbeat, and be very happy with how it performs.

Pros: - Good value (I got it onsale) - Bright backlit LCD screen - Easy to use rubber function buttons - Not too big or small - Tempered glass has a nice appearance and easy to clean with a quick wipe - Pretty quick weight reading Cons: - I sometimes find myself using the zero button but it not fully zeroing even though it read 0 on the LCD and having to go back and do it again. This could just be a me problem though and I'm doing it too fast. - The locking switch on the bottom of my unit is very hard to switch almost to the point I could break my finger nail off. This is not a huge problem but takes off 1 star for easy to use. Overall still 5 stars because it does everything I expected and wanted it to do. I had no problems with accuracy and its perfect for general home use.

This scale is so useful! First off, you can change the unit of weight. Second - and this is a huge bonus - after weighing something, like a plate, you can push the top button again and the weight will reset to zero. This means you do not need to record the weight of the plate, put food on the plate, note the total weight and subtract to get the weight of the food. Instead, you push the top button once after weighing the plate, the display goes back to zero, you put your food on the plate, and you see the weight of just the food, with no subtraction necessary. When making a recipe and weighing each ingredient as it goes in the bowl - or in adding additional side dishes to a dieter's plate - this saves so much time and potential confusion. This scale has been so useful. I love it, and cannot rate it highly enough.

I purchased the scale for the kitchen as a lot of recipes online measure ingredients in grams. The scale came earlier than promised. It was easy to set up and start using. The glass platform is good and easy to clean. The tare feature is great for adding ingredients. I don't know what the maximum tare is but I have tared 600g before. The automatic off hasn't been an issue, giving adequate time to get out ingredients and adding them. Two negatives: 1) There is a slight lag when adding small amounts like 1-2 g as you may go over then under getting the weight right. 2) The accuracy is okay for cooking, but was off a bit. I weighed several metal pieces in my lab using a certified scale, readings in grams are: Actual Reading 6.34 6 89.127 89 201.42 201 290.55 292 1464.0 1467 1754.5 1759 So it is off by 4.5g at 1754g. I was disappointed in that, but again for cooking not a big problem. I will not be sending it back as I like the way it works, and I don't expect the same accuracy as my $2000 lab scale. Overall I would recommend it.

Pro's: the size and shape: very easy to use and to store the glass surface: easy to clean and allows you to use large bowls the tare feature: so you can weigh the product without the weight of the bowl or plate quick on and off good buttons to be honest, I haven't even tried all the features - just love this! Cons: none that I can see. Originally, thought I wanted a larger scale that could measure a whole turkey and stuffing but when you get a scale that can weigh much larger weights, you sacrifice being able to measure smaller increments. So if I ever decide to weigh something very heavy, which so far I've not needed to, I'll just use my luggage scale or you could use a bathroom scale. No regrets, very, very glad I chose this one. I love it. It's perfect!
