Watch which way the bevelled edge comes out - so remove slowly.
These are great and fitted Bosch excel 7 perfectly. I'd tried resetting the code (you tube video) without fitting new brushes at first but nada so ordered these. Removing and fitting the old brushes is easy enough with a bit of reasoning. you push the fat end of the tab in until the small slots align and then lift up. it's a bit metal puzzle type fiddly but be patient and don't force them. Super important is to note which way the taper on the old brushes comes out so be mindful to watch closely and remove them slowly to watch for this or the spring will pull out and twist and you won't be sure. Not the end of the world if you get it wrong but it will be noisy until the new brushes be in and not fantastic for the armature which might arc a bit if they go in the wrong way. pop it on a spin to bed the new ones in. If you change spark plugs and lightbulbs and liked Meccano when you were little you've got this. Obviously unplug and watch a few videos first.

Spring to wide
The spring is too wide so the metal connector kept sliding through. I used a spring off the old one so fixed it but was very frustrating because I came up with a solution.

Amazing cheap fix!
Our Bosch Exxcel 8 Varioperfect washing machine stopped working and displayed an E43 Error code. A quick search online revealed it could be that the brushes needed to be replaced. So ordered these brushes which arrived the next day. Tipped the machine on its side to access the motor and simply unclipped the old brushes and replaced with the new ones. Our machine is now back up and running. Plenty of videos online that show what to do. A cheap fix! Many thanks!

Washer back to full strength
These were cheap and for me easy to fit. Simply remove the motor, lip out the old brushes, pop these in. Fix the motor back in and away you go. The bosch machines can throw up a fault code when the drum doesn't rotate at the speed expected, good chance its the brushes gone. They take a few wash cycles to bed in, they will be a little noisy for the first few washes, don't worry about this.
