Sturdy pole, my dog loves it!
My dog loves this toy! Very study. The other review mentioned the cord isn't very strong, I don't feel the same. However, it is not meant for tugging. The way the toy is built, when/if the cord ever breaks, it'll be really easy to replace. My only complaint is the top portion where the cord screws into the pole, unscrews to easy and often comes undone during play. I think I'll get some lock tight to gum it up a little bit. Overall, so much better than I ever expected for the price. Well worth it.

Fun Way to Wear Out My Dog
A great way to wear out my 4 year old Great Dane. And they said Great Danes are lazy!!! HA! The adjustable pole allows me to get it the right length for both my dog and me. Seems well made, but my Dane is very gentle with toys so I don't know how it would hold up against a rough playing dog.

Great but not heavy duty
This have been a lifesaver for so many dogs I work with! It’s fun and makes exercising with my dog so much easier. The string does not hold up, but I can easier tie it back up and make it work. I’ve used this with several dogs I train, and most of them love it!

String broke during first play time
I got this to entertain my 6 month old Kelpie mix. She loved it for the first 20 minutes until she went to catch the toy and caught the string first. It broke in her mouth without her chewing on it. The pole seems pretty sturdy and the toy is also pretty sturdy. Some of it is hard to tell because this was our first time playing with the flirt pole. If the strings break that easily this doesn't seem like a good investment of money. I was hoping to get good use of this toy and to have a fun safe way to entertain my pup, but I dont want to spend money every day to replace the string. The idea is great, and I really hope there is a way to improve this product.

Snapped within 2 minutes
We have heard GREAT things about the flirt pole and thought that we would give it a try to wear out our super energetic puppy. When first opening it we made sure not to over extend it and began having a fun time with the pup. He absolutely loved it! But, he got ahold of the toy within 2 minutes, one quick shake of his head, and SNAP. It bent a full 90 degrees and when the pup let go, it broke the rest of the way. Obviously all playing came to an immediate halt and our poor boy thinks he’s in trouble. He’s extremely sad and upset that he had to stop playing so quickly. I hope my pole was defective and that this pole is as good as everyone says. But with this, the disappointment has us baffled.

Way too flimsy for practical use.
Flirt poles are awesome, but not the flimsy junk that is sold here. There’s no way that the positive reviews here are from owners of anything other than pomeranians, very young kittens, or owners who played with their pet for 5 minutes and never took it out again. I left two stars because I will be able to re-use the teaser on the flirt pole that I built. This product broke within two play sessions. Our experience was really simple: my 10 week old puppy would catch the teaser, and it would apply pressure to the “joints” of the stick. It stopped locking after the second play session, and the cheap string popped in the third. My puppy was not strong at all and he was learning “drop”. We weren’t using it as a tug toy. Take this money and build one out of PVC with a nicer rope and you’ll have a fantastic tool to play with and train your dog impulse control (politeness, drop, take it, chase, etc). The PVC should cost $3, cap is .50, pack of thin paracord rope is $7. Attach a toy to the end, voila, a flirt pole that you can have tons of fun with and replace the rope yourself if the dog ever breaks it.

Such fun... My Border Collie loves this and helps his energetic behaviour when used for short periods. Great to teach training moves Eg. Leave it, drop it. Good for my concentration also 😉 as if I don't watch where I'm moving it I can give my knee a good bashing! 😅 Strong, durable.
