Good unit
Replaced an older model that unfortunately parts are too expensive to replace with shipping. It connected to old display easily and easily programed and working as the original. No connection point for solar however.

A good product
Not my first Acurite. This is a replacement for a 10 year old unit. I did not need the display as the original display is working perfectly. Considering the outside unit is constantly exposed to the elements the life span exceeded my expectations. I will stick with Acurite.

Good little instrument…
These are good little weather stations. The price is right and they are fairly accurate. I consider these a disposable part. I have two weather station about 150 miles apart. I consistently have to replace them about every 18 months as they’ll have one of the sensors go out. Usually it’s the temperature sensor. They will start to read -40° letting you know it’s time to replace the unit. I’m giving this 4 stars because of their short lifespan. If they would last 2 years I’d give them the full 5 starts.

Keep Your Working Display
You don't have to replace your display unit when your sensor unit bites the dust. This unit gets all your readings back and is compatible with your existing display, so you can save a few bucks!

Great Unit
I bought my first Acurite 5 in 1 seven or eight years ago. The temperature sensor finally gave out. I could have ordered a new temperature sensor and simply replaced that part of my weather sensor, but shipping cost for the one ounce sensor exceeded the cost of the temperature sensor itself. An entire new sensor unit was only twice the cost of the single part I needed, so I considered the 7+ years of faithful service in sometimes brutal conditions and decided that other parts might be close to the end of their expected life cycle as well and decided to simply replace the whole unit. It was reasonably priced, and compatible with my older display unit so it was a good bargain. Only took me a few minutes to bring down the old sensor off my 15 foot iron pole, and install the new one. It began transmitting immediately to my display unit. I look forward to another 5 to 8 years of data from this unit. I am very pleased with how well it holds up when one considers it is exposed to the elements 24/7/365. I love my Acurite 5-in-1. The only feature I wish it had that it does not, is a wind "gust" measurement. Aside from that, I call my Acurite close to perfect!

Works great
My second one. Miss it when you don't have it.

Works the same as the older Non-Iris 5-in-1 sensor, though you may have pairing issues...
The thing about these weather stations is they are subjected to some pretty extreme conditions. I honestly wanted to go with a different brand, but my last 5-in-1 (non-Iris) pro lasted about 9 years in the California sun. I also have an older Acurite WIFI hub and 4-5 other sensors I use around the house and in the garages to monitor temps. If I went with another brand, then I'd have to buy more sensors. I decided to buy this sensor and give a little more life to the hardware I'm already running. Setup was a direct swap for the old sensor and I installed new Lithium batteries. What I wasn't expecting was a display unit to be included and it does support WIFI. It cannot see other sensors, but can push the data from the 5-in-1 sensor into the My Accurite app. The setup of the WIFI is a bit odd by having to connect your phone or laptop to the WIFI broadcast by the display, point your browser to http://192.168.4.1 and then join it to your home WIFI. From there you can register it in the My Accurite app by using the device ID located under the display's battery cover. I would have rated it 4 stars but since it came with a display I'm giving it 5. I tried pairing this with my older Acurite display. I tried power cycling it, resetting it, and it wouldn't display the data from the sensor. I made sure they were both set to Channel A. So I elected to use the new display and my Acurite WIFI hub saw the new sensor with no issue. When I came back into the kitchen where the old display was powered on a couple hours later, it was showing sensor data from the new 5-in-1. I have no idea why it took so long, but it is working with all of my displays and hubs just like the old non-Iris 5-in-1 sensor was. I did see a few reviews stating they couldn't get it to pair with their older displays, but I'd recommend waiting after doing a reset since it did work for me eventually.

Great product!
Great unit. I have used AcuRite for decades. This replaces a sending unit that I bought 10 years ago that has been through multiple storms. It did not survive the last punishing hail storm.

Great sensor but wrong hemisphere
I bought this to replace my existing sensor unit which wore out after 4 years in the intense Australian sun, which I'm OK with. Upon installing the unit I noticed that the north and south markers near the wind cups are switched around and the instructions tell me to orient the solar panel facing south. This is correct for the northern hemisphere but for the southern hemisphere the solar panel needs to face north, like with my original installation. After installing the correct orientation for the solar panel but the wrong orientation for the compass markings, now the wind direction is out by 180 degrees. Not a big deal, as I correct this in my own software, but just an FYI for other customers in the southern hemisphere purchasing this item.

It works
Got it to replace one that i had for 12 years. It's nice that this has Two solar panels for the fan. My old one the data sent was off a lot, and it had lived out on the pole through hailstorms and harsh winters. the new one looks so white. I had forgot just how white they are. I got his at a great price, had to reset my receivers, which is a no brainer. Works very well.

Great unit.
Replaced a similar Acurite unit that lasted many years (so long that i can't remember the original purchase). Hard to believe that plastic can last so long
