Jump in - this book is great - The takeaways - what you need to know: *Great book with EXCELLENT story telling *Hard to put down *Easy read *Absolutely fun for any MMA fan *Great for autobiography enthusiasts I was never really a Michael Bisping fan. I liked some things about his persona - well, liked and found annoying, but reading this book has made me a fan of the fighter and the man (he's a really great guy) The story telling is compelling and genuine - and every paragraph I could hear in Bisping's voice. Great story telling and great insights into some major players in the UFC - Dana White comes across as a truly good dude. It's a great telling of Michael Bisping's story - respectfully, genuinely and humorously told by the man himself. If you're an MMA fan, familiar with Bisping or even if you just like reading autobiographies -- this book is great! Review: One of the best contemporary autobiographies I've read. - Engaging and well-written: strong narrative voice that doesn't make the mistake of becoming "literary". The only issue:quite a few issues of copy (phrasing, grammar, typos) which would have easily been remedied by a decent copy editor. This didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book, but several times I had to re-read a passage to work out what the intended meaning was (in a few cases it was a simple word omission). Michael Bisping's story makes a compelling read. There are dramatic, and even bizarre, episodes in a life that is at times familiar, even mundane. But that's what makes this "hero's journey" so engaging. The book is so well structured, so that the narrative always moves forward at a good pace. Bisping has always demonstrated a quick mind and sharp wit during interviews and run-ins with opponents, and both translate well into his writing. One of the best contemporary autobiographies I've read.

Great read
Great book from a great fighter. If you’re not a fan of Michael Bisping, you will be after reading this book. Great insight into the preparation, training, poltics, and culture of MMA. Michael has a great life story, underdog - who critics wrote off as a good fighter who couldn’t win the big fights. Please do yourself a favor and read this book. Michael’s trials, tribulations, & triumphs are a touching story.

Excellent Read!!
I’ve been a huge Bisping fan since watching him on TUF 3 back in 2006. Definitely one of my favorite MMA fighters of all-time and this autobiography gives a great peak into the life of a true legend in this amazing sport. You’ll find yourself blitzing through this book from cover to cover as Bisping readily proves his chops as a story teller clearly rival his great skills in the octagon. A must read for any fight fan!

Not a bad read if your interested in his life.. dont get it for self help motivation tho, its not really that the title is just what he calls what he did over his life

Arrived in one day with no issues. If you like stories about ex UFC fighters, it’s a quick, easy, and informative read, especially if you’re a fan of Count Bisbing.

Crying (from both eyes)
Disclaimer: I like cage fighting and think Bisping is one of the all-time greats of the sport. But! I'm also a lady, an American, and a fully grown adult. I have no reason to sit down and read an entire autobiography for fun...and yet I did, and it was amazing. If you don't care about the UFC, you'll still enjoy this book and the up-from-the-bootstraps story of a "regular guy" who made his life out of getting hit in the head. If you do like the UFC, you'll enjoy a walk down memory lane when it comes to the enterprise's inception, and you'll also get a kick out of Bisping's anecdotes. Some of the guys you'd expect were jerks, while others really weren't. If you're an ophthalmologist, read this book right now, because there's a pretty important part about acute angle-closure glaucoma, and when do you get to read about that in a memoir? If you don't know anything about Bisping, the UFC, or fighting, I don't know where you live, but it's probably very peaceful. Still read this book, because it's funny and an incredible story. Anthony Evans is an amazing writer, so I hope he and Bisping collaborate for some other tome or project real soon. Buy the book.

Great AutoBio of UFC Champ
Inspiring. Michael not only tells his story but he encourages the reader to live their dream. Do the hard work, keep your priorities straight, and go after what you want. Not in a greedy or materialistic way-he’s not dis-humble. In fact, the book is filled with gratitude towards his supporters, friends, family, and the reader.

I will admit it I am a huge Michael Bisping fan, who had been following his career from the time he was just a UFC prospect right to the end. I am so happy with what he achieved and earned the respect her deserved. Michael would probably hate me saying this but his life is like a real life Rocky story. The book is amazing. I did not want to put it down at all. Michael honest about his past, mistakes and learning experiences as well. The fights are like a show of adrenaline. Reading through them as a blow by blow account made me feel I was right there. This is what I love about autobiographies, when it comes to fight especially, you only get the emotions the person of what the person is feeling at that moment from the person who was there. It is a testament to the writing the it was translated so well on paper. Also I can his post fight career as a fight analyst in describing the fights, training, and his real life as well. One of the things that I relived through this book is I know exactly how hard it was too get training at this time period. People did not know about strength and conditioning, except people at the elite level of trainers and in this country even many of them were just scratching the surface. So a new sport like MMA was probobly while having the Scarlet Letters on you. I grew up being told I was not a real athlete (despite destroying everyone i knew on strength and conditioning exercises), as I was no good at football or cricket. It was not till I found martial arts (kickboxing specifically), that I myself (first) and people changed their opinion. To this day the lessions I learned in Martial arts are still paying dividends in every aspect of my life. The book is amazingly detailed, cheekily funny. Dispite living in America the last few years Michael definitely has not lost his British sense of humour. It is a thank you to the people he helped him achieve is dream from fans, friends and of course family. However the biggest factor is hardwork. Michael took his opportunities but it was his hard work that made them and him a success. Another important from the book is knowing when to walk away. This is especially hard for fighters. There is is Martial arts quote sixtimes down seven times up. Michael is the epitome of this just look at his UFC career. As stated he holds the record of being knocked down in six fight only to come back to win them. The book also show the difference of Michael Bisping the character (promoting and selling fight), and the real person. More or less the same person, just one is slightly more exaggerated and animated. The mark of a great autobiography is if I feel I am a bigger fan of the writer after I have finished it that is definitely the case here. Awsome book.

I recommend this to every MMA fan, Bisping describes his journey from his childhood and all ups and downs he had during his time in UFC as a fighter. It was also inspiring overall. It also changed my whole perspective towards UFC fighters especially Bisping because I was never fan before and kind of disliked him but after knowing his story, I have mad respect for him
