3M 1080 G120 GLOSS WHITE ALUMINUM 5ft x 2ft (10 Sq/ft) Car Wrap Vinyl Film

I’m a DIY’er, and I found this vinyl to be pleasant to work with. I had gotten tired of the look of my full carbon hood and decided colors would add character and complement the curves without causing permanent damage to the hood’s finish. I decided to try this silver vinyl and blue pinstripe. I initially found the vinyl to be far lighter than ingot silver. I installed it Friday night. By Sunday afternoon, the color appeared to had gotten darker and more closely resembles the factory paint color. It’s not a perfect match, but it’s close enough for me.

If you are looking for a metallic silver that has depth to it and a high gloss finish, this is the wrap to get. The trim on my 64 Bel Air spent 40 years of its life in Phoenix and sand over the years etched the aluminum trim. I opted to try wrap over actual paint to see if it was an option to go with for a different look and also to protect it from the car overall from weather while I complete bodywork in stages. This wrap is thick and doesn't highlight little pits like the blue in the background so it doesn't have to be completely perfect. One tip I do have is to pull the liner off a section at a time and heat it with the heat gun just enough to release the wrinkles so it is smooth and let it cool a couple of seconds before letting the tension go. This preps the wrap so it goes right over the part smooth. I recently started using another trick seen by a pro using a small spray bottle with soapy water. Spraying the top surface lets the squeegee glide over the surface smoothing it out. Once you get the hang of how this wrap works, it can wrap just about anything. The mailbox was given an update after the paint faded from being about 3 years old. Mostly scrap leftover wrap put to use. The silver was the cure for highlighting the numbers being difficult to see at night. 3M quality is worth a bit more when buying wrap.

This is an exact match to my 2015 Suburban. Switchblade Silver, Silver Ice Metallic. My registration calls it Aluminum Silver.

This stuff is great. Works well with heat of a hairdryer. Very tough. Color matches my '02 silver beetle perfectly. Turned out awesome

Match 100% my ingot silver F150 color

False advertising. Picture shows a silver color and the description says white silver. It's white period. I'll use it somewhere but it sure would have been nice to know I was getting WHITE.

Used it on my 2017 Silver Sky Metallic Tundra to cover the chrome bumper caps. Color is really close and the product has held up well!
