We have a senior rescue mutt and dealing with GI issues for years. We switched to this food in order to avoid chicken entirely as chicken and beef are too common allergies for dogs (plus soy, too). We wanted a food with a novel protein plus heavy on probiotics. Our dog loves the taste and his GI issues have improved over time. We also added one of the fresh dog foods to mix in with this kibble and the combination has been a winning combo. We also added one of the treats too in order to phase out soy ingredients within our hypoallergenic treats from another common vet-prescribed dog food maker. The smaller sized bags are also nice when making the transition since all these foods are friggin’ expensive these days. Knowing that, price isn’t a big deal since we’ll do anything to make his final time on this planet as comfortable and wonderful as possible. This food plays a role in that equation.

We love that this product is holistic with minimal ingredients. Our shihtzu eats this with minimal problems of sticking her nose up to it lol Shihtzu's can be picky. We sometimes top it with steamed green beans, boiled chicken, carrots or a bit of our baked salmon when we have it. No spices or salt added. Im happy to find a good quality dog food for her. She has no health issues and is 5 yrs. old, and she has been on halo dog food since she was a puppy. Read the back of the bag and look at the 1st 5 ingredients to make sure it lives up to your expectations. I don't remember which flavor or style, but I did notice a few ingredients on one of their dog foods that I wouldn't want compared to their others. We have a happy eater, that's the most important. 🤗

Our dog is a samoyed with a finicky stomach. She'll eat anything, but many things don't sit well. She enjoys this food, it's clearly good for her digestion, the vet says she's healthy, and she doesn't have dog breath. Not much more to say.

Well.. seller must have read my “great price” review because they jacked the price up $10. I will be buying the smaller 14 pound bags from another seller because then I don’t have to worry as much about freshness, they have other ingredient blends and also because I’m annoyed at such a large price increase. We live on an island and our supermarket is VERY expensive so that’s why the price for this food is so high where we live. I should have been buying through Amazon years ago. Original review- I feel so stupid I haven't bought this dog food from Amazon before. Our dogs love it and we like giving them high quality food ("the proof is in the poop" is their motto). We have been buying 4lb bags from our supermarket for $25 and this 21lb bag is basically the same price as the 4lb at our store. ARRGH! Anyway, now we'll be saving a lot and they'll get the same great food they love.

My girl loves it but I can't get the cats from eating it all. I am ordering the Halo cat food for sure now
