Odor relief
I had air coming from my Priusโ a/c that smelled like dirty socks. I changed the cabin air filter to this carbon filter with pleasant results! No more stinky sock smell!

OEM air filter
Can confirm this product is OEM and fits a 2018 4runner as specified. Was cheaper than buying directly from my local dealer. Will buy again when the time comes for my regular change interval.

Works great in the 2011 Toyota Prius!
I chose this air filter after doing extensive research on the various filters sold by Toyota/Lexus. This is by far the most premium offering equipped as standard on the Lexus LS460, and the size and shape fit perfectly in my 2011 Toyota Prius with the OEM Sharp Plasmacluster ionization system. The American made filter offered by my local Toyota dealership lacked the quality and number of folds that came on the Japanese filter that came in my car new. This Japanese built Lexus filter has the same high quality folds as my original filter and adds a layer of charcoal filtration that refreshes and deodorizes the cabin without impacting fan performance. For people like me who will only accept the very best, the small price premium over the lesser cabin air filters is well worth it!

Much better quality than the dealer-bought replacement.
This review echoes what others have said. I bought here on Amazon one of these 87139-50100 cabin charcoal air filters for my '16 Camry Hybrid about a year ago. Not remembering when I'd bought it, I figured maybe it was time to replace it, and so today while at my Toyota dealer I bought a new replacement cabin charcoal air filter 87139-YZZ10, thinking if I bought it at a Toyota dealer it must be the best OEM quality. But then going out to my car and removing the "old" 50100 filter to replace it with this new YZZ10 filter, it was immediately obvious that there is a big difference. The YZZ10 is much lighter in weight, and in color making me think it has a lot less charcoal in it, and has 24 pleats vs. 31 in the 50100. As others have said, the 50100 is made in Japan and the YZZ10 is made in USA. The YZZ10 at the dealer was a lot cheaper, $31 with a $5 coupon, compared to the $41 price on this 50100. I thought it was curious that an OEM part from a dealer would be so much cheaper than this one on Amazon, but now it is easy to see why based on the apparent quality difference. I will be returning the YZZ10 to the dealer, and in the future when I need a new cabin air filter, I will be ordering this 50100. Pretty disappointing that Toyota would be selling an "OEM" replacement part at its dealers that is much lower in quality than the original part.

Just make sure you get the filter orientation correct
The factory Toyota cabin air filter has an arrow that is labeled "UP". This is an indication of physical orientation (like "This end up" on a cardboard box), not air flow direction. Some aftermarket filters use an arrow for air flow direction, which can be confusing if one of those is in your car already and you think you'll just match which way the arrow is pointing to install your new Toyota cabin filter. The problem is that at least for my car, the air flow direction is downward. So if you install the Toyota filter with its arrow pointing down, you've installed that filter upside down. A clue as to the air flow direction is noting which side of the old filter is all of the filtered junk. In my car's case, the filtered junk was on the top side of the filter, meaning the air flow is from top to bottom, i.e., downward.

Itโs good
This filter is thicker than the non-carbon version however it still works well. Air flow is still good. Good quality.
