This is just what I was looking for the replace the factory actuators in my 2010 Chevy Impala. I am glad that I found this part on here for such a good price because the dealership wanted to charge me hundreds for something that only took me 10 mins to do myself. If your Impala is making that loud clicking noise every time you get in the car or turn on the a/c or heat this is the part you need to fix this issue. All you have to do is go to youtube and look up how to change it and it is very simple. I actually had to buy 2 because I fixed the passenger side and then the driver side went bad. Now I can actually drive my car without having to worry about that annoying clicking sound. Also, just to make it easier for you there are 3 pins at the bottom of the glove compartment that you can remove and the glove box comes right off. I didn't see this before in the video and I had to learn the hard way. I just used a small allen key to push out the pins. You will also need a 5.5mm socket with an extension to take the 2 bolts off the actuator and a flat head screwdriver to pop off the wiring harness.

The first Dorman Air Door Actuator I received lasted for 2 weeks before it just stopped working. I got a replacement, which was sent quickly. The replacement one has lasted for over a month and is still going strong. These actuators work well, so long as the one you receive is not defective.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Installed in a 2008 Chevy Impala. The clicking stopped and the door opens and closes correctly. Found a You Tube video on the install. Was fairly easy.

Easy installation. Appears to be of better quality than the previous aftermarket actuator I purchased 18 months ago.

Watch a few of the You Tube videos first to help you isolate the defective actuator, assemble the required/suggested tools and follow the removal/install/calibration instructions included with the Dorman product. My removal/replacement took about 2 1/2 hours. About 2 hours to remove and a half hour to install/calibrate the new actuator and reinstall the glove box. A large portion of the 2 hour removal time was for figuring out which tools/body contortions were needed for me personally as access is, as others have noted, very tight. The wiring harness does have a black positioning clip located at the lower edge of the glove box opening that can be easily popped out to give you slightly better access. The part fit perfectly on the 2012 Impala LT and the DIY saved me about $400+.

Bought off Amazon, installed under dash under steering wheel, problem not resolved, thought it may have been another actuator, bought another off Amazon from a different company, replaced the one behind glove box, no change, took to machanic shop, found out the new doorman actuator was the problem, had to replace the new with a new, paid $150.00 to replace. don't buy this actuator especially if it's the one under dash. More than likely you will need to spend more money to do it again.

Best price, direct fit to my 2006 chev impala ss, followed the relearn procedure provided, installed part few months ago and still working well.

It was the right part and worked like a charm, my brother was happy he had heat on his side of the car.

Installed on 2010 Impala. Works great.

First one worse than my old one but they refunded my money and I reordered it and the second one works great somebody must have put a used one in or didn't check it and see if it works but everything is good now just a little extra work the new part I actually would give a five star

Installation aside (blame GM for that one) these are great. Actual fix to the "clicking glovebox" problem with a simple replaceable part. These ones seem to be much better built than the other cheaper ones available, and won't just wear down and start clicking again like those.
