The Ultimate Granny Square Sourcebook: 100 Contemporary Motifs to Mix and Match

I haven't done any patterns out of this book yet - I'll update if I'm egregiously wrong here, but I'm not too worried because you can tell it was made with attention to details. 1. The book is bound in such a way that you can lay it flat without pages falling out! Almost like someone thought about how you're going to use this book and then bound it accordingly! (See, Dover? It can be done!) 2. There's a table of contents. With. Pictures. What?!? You can easily see all the motifs and pick which one you want with out flipping through the whole book?!? Crazy?!? 3. Pictures! Charts! Written instructions! 4. And.... The top of each page says how many stitches the end block will be! 5. The patterns are credited with the designer - so if you like them, you can find more! The only bummer I see (which isn't a bummer, really) is that most of the patterns are for a very dense granny square - so if you're looking for some lacy motifs, this isn't the reference for you. But if you're looking for fun color ideas/mandala looks, this is perfect! All in all, it's a thoughtful, well edited book that I'm itching to try out!

the patterns are super easy to understand and follow. i was a beginner when i bought this and it’s helped me tremendously. there are several different patterns from beginner friendly to advanced. it teaches you basic stitches and how to read patterns. each square is really pretty! :)

This is the most beautiful book. It's not just a pretty face either. The patterns are well written, the pictures are fantastic (they often show squares crocheted in a variety of colors), and the illustrated stitches are the best I've seen. I've been crocheting doilies for almost 60 years and I have thousands of patterns but I recently wanted to try my hand at granny squares. I like sewing handmade bags and I think the granny squares would be great for embellishments. I've purchased several books, some were real DOGS. I've even purchased some that were AI generated and exactly the same on the inside as other books from that publisher. BUT this book, it's AMAZING! I will definitely check out publishers more carefully AND buy from "Meteoor Books" again.

This book has some awesome pictures and instructions. The stitches all have "how-to" instructions, but not all of them worked well for me. Maybe with some practice they would do better. I do LOVE the fact that there are LOTS of squares and if you are looking to make a blanket or something, you can certainly find a pattern that you like from animals to 3D flowers to fruit, etc. Great book to have on hand!

I absolutely adore this book. It is clear and helps teach you how to read crochet pattern diagrams and descriptions, and the patterns are so beautiful. Not to mention there are SO MANY! the granny squares are super easy to mix and match with the way they set it up. I've also noticed the author(s?) have made a clear effort to put the best techniques into the patterns.

Wow what a beautiful book! The squares are some I have never seen before and I am a 3O year crocheter! The directions seem pretty good so far. I am only into the 15th square so far. Hope to try them all. Really fun.

After not crocheting in years, I saw a recommendation for this book on a YouTube channel about crocheting. It’s really helpful! There is a color picture, chart and instructions for each pattern. When Joann went out of business, I bought a collection of colors in Big Twist yarn and started making samples of the designs. I find it easy to follow.

Super happy with this book! It has a great selection of squares for all levels, but especially for beginners and intermediates. What I find helpful as a beginner, it describes the different stitches and how to read patterns. 100% recommend

This book is very helpful, I was struggling with ideas to crochet, granny squares are one of my favourite thing to crochet as they are quick to make, this book has a good variety of patterns to follow and easy to understand

Ottimo libri, istruzioni semplici con schemi molto chiari e divertenti da fare. Parte da quelli più semplici fino a quelli più elaborati. Ne ho fatto molti e dal risultato eccezionale. Non consiglio se non si è pratici della lingua inglese o la lettura degli schemi a uncinetto.
