LED technology has arrived, but it can be confusing as to who is selling quality for the best price. Seems very well built, and considering it is more red than other/regular LED Grow Lamps I am banking on the bud production to get more significant and large. That is why I bought this model, plus I just bought two more BLOOM Lamps in the 240 watt configuration. Prices are great and the product is tight. The promotional info on these lamps is honest, the coverage for bodacious bud production is clearly stated and not overblown. Bud production is impressive, and active ingredients are intense with the 10 spectrums of light tuned for medical plant needs. I love the compact design, the cool temperatures, the energy efficiency and long life aspects of LED lighting. While pricier than old-fashioned sodium with balast, to me it is worth it, so modern and streamlined - just plug and play - so to speak. Buying can be tricky, as there are cheap knock-offs that advertise as the real deal, lousy product with lousy customer service, and overpriced even if they were well made. The fact that desertcart if selling G8LED lights is also a huge incentive for me. Review: 450 Bloom panel and Dorm Grow Feedback - I waited until my 2 year warranty is almost expired before deciding to write a review. In my opinion this system is excellent as a whole when everything's working properly. I purchased this light along with a 240 grow light and a 90 watt all red bloom booster for the complete system. I have this 450 bloom + 90 watt bloom booster in a 4x4 tent with the 240 grow panel in a separate area. They come with a 2 year warranty which is important to mention. I made my purchase sometime in 2014 and have had to request warranty service 3 times total. The good: The plants respond well to the system as a whole. They plain out love it. The new growth is certainly fresh and noticeable. Even with following G8LED's height recommendations by the end of the day I have to manually push back the plants because they're reaching for the lights. I actually prefer to tie them down (helps the yield). These lights are easy on my electric bill. My bill is under $85 and that includes everything from my medical setup which is 3 G8LED lights [450 bloom, 240 grow, 90 red booster], 1 box fan, 2 tiny personal fans, 1 Eva-dry Edv-1100 Electric Petite Dehumidifier, White , *AND* regular use of appliances in the throughout the house. I use timers on just about every outlet so I'm sure that more than explains how I'm able to keep the bill so low even in the winter time. These lights put off heat but not enough to require serious ventilation or cooling solutions for the summer time use. Not to say ventilation isn't required but not necessary/rather minimal for winter. At least thats what my experience has been. The bad: So far I have had to request warranty service on my 450 bloom twice. My original panel lasted over a year. The replacement panel lasted less than 4 months before I noticed half my lights went out where i had to request service again. Communication has been so-so with Dorm Grow. Obviously I've only had to communicate with Dorm Grow when requesting warranty service but the most recent time I asked several questions pertaining to returns and/or services info for after my warranty expires in the same message as the warranty request. Their customer support only addressed the warranty request and didn't even acknowledge my other questions/concerns. It's not that I was just being a cranky disgruntled customer and trying to give anyone on the customer support team a hard time. To me this is vital information because wouldn't you want to know what happens when YOUR warranty expires? I'm just trying to plan ahead because this effects my future cycles. While yes I am disappointed because the past 2 flower cycles have been interrupted due to light failures but it does not mean I would not buy from this company again in the future. I only have 5 months left in my warranty. It might be costly to have a panel repaired rather than opt to try a different company or buy a new system with a new warranty. Its a good overall product and service. There's always room for improvement. Other thoughts/notes: If you know anything about the electromagnetic spectrum then I think users should consider purchasing proper eye protection for these babies. Especially with the Ultra Violet and Infrared aspect alone. I wouldn't use sunglasses because those are only adequate for UV protection. Your eyes will thank you after you've been working around the ladies during their "day time." I personally own the Method Seven Operator LED Grow Room Glasses but Black Dog LED makes some too. Maybe G8LED should consider some type of first party eye protection for their consumers? Couldn't hurt. Minus 1 star for quality issues and minus another star for customer communication. November '16 Update: My warranty finally expired back in June. I emailed the people at Dorm Grow and they quoted me at about half the price to get my unit repaired. Parts/labor and round trip shipping is all in the quote. So now I'm in a spot where have to decide to go with a different company or stay. It's a great light but to be honest it just breaks down too often. I've had to service each of my units multiple times randomly throughout the 2 years that I've owned this "system." I will not be returning to this company in the future.

Great light
I bought the g8 so I would have room to expand, I'm currently blooming in a 2'x2' area but plan on going to a 4'x4' area in the near future. The production increase from the old to the new is very substantial. We used to always run out of product before but not anymore. Now we have a surplus and can give some away to close friends. Nice to be able to share the wealth, without having to spend a fortune. Although this light is more expensive than others it is well worth it. In our case it has paid for itself in about 4 months. I do notice a slight yellowing of the plants as they near harvest though and I haven't quite figured out what that is all about. It doesn't affect the potency or taste or anything but...

Good replacement for my 600w hps bulbs
Using two of these in place of my two 600w hps bulbs was a great decision. Over the summer the heat was unbearable and I knew I had to go led. I went with the g8 and took a leap of faith which in hindsight I am so satisfied with my decision. The plants are truly better quality too.

Love this product! Did the job right!
The g8 bloom 450 did what it was supposed to do. I used one along with hps lights in our small warehouse and the 9 plants that had access to the light from this g8 were significantly better than the rest. I just ordered more to spread out in our flower chamber. The difference was that there were more crystallization and closer nugs. The final smoke test did show a noticeable and positive difference in the feel from the buds that had exposure to the g8 450 bloom. I am convinced. Good job g8led!

Sparingly used and broken
Within the 4 years Iโve possessed this light, I have used it a handful of times. For it to lose half of its lights for the amount of time in use is disappointing to say the least especially at the price point.

NO room temp problems Now
Great for my compact living space, one negative would be not knowing about veging with T5 meant i would have to put a T5 in with LED Bloom, until I recieved your instruction page with the light, did I miss that in your ad? Anyway left T5 in with it. I will use this coupon to buy a 240 watt full spec for my veg an THEN get rid of the T5.

The real deal
I want to say I love this light. I love the whole G8LED indoor grow system. I used the 240watter to grow 12 clones and then moved 6 under this 450bloom light to flower and how was the result? Simply amazing!!! Not only was it easier to grow than I thought but I blew away my 400w HPS system which I have been using for the last two years. If you are a real deal grower then u gotta have this light.
