I picked up the GearLight USB rechargeable headlamp for camping and outdoor use, and it’s turned out to be way more useful than expected. The light is bright enough to clearly see what I’m doing, whether it’s setting up camp, walking at night, or working in a dark space. It’s lightweight and comfortable to wear, even for longer periods, and doesn’t feel bulky on the head. The rechargeable feature is a big win—no constantly swapping batteries. Charging is quick and easy, and the battery lasts long enough for multiple uses before needing a recharge. I also like the adjustable strap, which stays put without being too tight, and the different light modes that come in handy depending on the situation. Overall, this headlamp feels well-made, dependable, and practical. It’s one of those tools you don’t think about much until you really need it, and then you’re glad you have it. Definitely a solid choice for camping, running, or any outdoor activity.

I grabbed the GearLight USB Rechargeable Headlamp (2-Pack) for night photography, and it’s been fantastic. The red light is bright enough to see what I’m doing but doesn’t ruin night vision, which is key for long-exposure shots. I also love that the angle is adjustable, so I can point the beam exactly where I need it. Battery life has been solid, and it’s comfortable enough for extended use. Bonus: it’s great for camping, running, or any nighttime adventure. Any other photographers out there using headlamps for night shots? Would love to hear your tips!

these will work great for what I need them for which is when our power goes out. The brightness is great even on the dimmest setting. Had a little trouble getting the battery compartment open. Everything is plastic so can't be rough with them.

These are great headlamps, especially for the price. They’re lightweight, bright, and the different light settings are really useful. The red light is easy to access, and the headband is comfortable for long wear. They are a little flimsy—I’ve had 2 out of about 20 break—but for the value, they still hold up well overall. Great budget-friendly option. They are plenty bright and easy to change batteries on. Also I have a huge head, they fit me comfortably and they fit my wife who has a tiny head. These are great!

(Update: Here it is, 6 months later, and I'm still on the original batteries. ...Whaaat? Granted, I always run them at the lowest brightness and granted, they are dimmer than new but they still usable. I really have little to complain about with these lamps. I love them, and I love the price.) I got a $50 Mountain Hardware lamp years ago as a gift, so I was curious to see how these cheapies would hold up. They've done well. The nice thing is, they're so inexpensive that I worry less about them. They fit perfectly on the head (they are adjustable, you know), they're comfortable, the beam is adjustable up and down (which is important!) and the batteries last a reallly long time... hours and hours. I don't know how long, but I've spent a few weekends with one of them in the basement, cleaning it out, and the lamp is still going strong. They have a good strong white light, and they can go to red as well for nighttime use. My daughter gets creeped out by the red light. I think it's a great idea, and good for not messing up your eyesight in the middle of the night when you go out to the call of nature. But I can't use it as often as I'd like :-) . The only downsides are: These lights are a little difficult to figure out in terms of how the pushbutton behaves. I usually just fumble around until I get the brightness setting where I want it, or the flash, or the red light, or whatever. I don't know what does what (push quickly, hold for a long time, etc.) but at least I can shut them off and turn them on when I need to. The other more annoying nit is that, even though they're dimmable, dim is still pretty dang bright. I would like to have it go dimmer so they would make a good reading lamp. That said, for the price you can't beat 'em. $7.50 each? ...One for each kid, so they stop borrowing my flashlight! :-)

I use these for walking the dog at night and I keep one in my car in case of emergency. I love the white and red light and it's super easy to charge and fit to your head. Would recommend

I have had two different headlamps in the past. When was Princeton Tec and the other was Northbound Train. The batteries leaked in both of those maybe because they didn’t use them that often but still. I was looking to replace my headlamp when I got the idea to maybe look for one that was rechargeable and didn’t use regular batteries. I was happy to find these gear light headlamps, even though I didn’t need two of them. I guess I can keep one in the car or something. It would be handy to have in the glove box at night. I haven’t had the gear light headlamp for that long, but I am leaving my review because I discovered one thing. The one thing that I did not like about the gear light headlamp is the strap that goes around your head. It’s not comfortable for some reason. Maybe it’s the fabric. Luckily, I had not tossed the Princeton Tec headband yet and got it out of a drawer and switched headbands. So now the GearLight is really comfortable to wear. Tada! I think GearLight should look into a more comfortable headband fabric, and then they would be set. The gear light does not look as high-quality as other headlamps that I have owned, but they look good enough. And I really like that they are rechargeable and they are very bright. I have used a headlamp in blackouts and other emergencies, but I have also used them for club DJing!

Great headlamps. Have used them for backpacking and hiking for years. Fairly light weight, bright enough to hike at night, battery lasts a long time. Adjustable head strap, adjustable light direction, easy on off switch.
