Good product for the price. Helps with light and heat.
After reading a lot of reviews we settled on this reflective tint and are very happy with the decision. We have an enclosed porch in Texas that gets very hot in the summer heat. It is basically a huge sunroom full of windows but it has had to become my office in this Covid world. This tint has helped tremendously and we haven’t even finished installing it on every window yet. I admit it is not a perfect product. It does take some time and patience to install, but if you use plenty of the soap water and also buy an installation kit that has some additional squeegees as others have suggested, it is manageable for 2 people. I really like that it doesn’t have an adhesive on it so it is forgiving. It also does not have a perfectly clear finish so if you’re installing it on a huge window with a gorgeous view that you don’t want to blemish, then you might want to get something more professional. For us, it is perfect. It reflects light and reduces the heat coming in, is fine to look through and easy enough to install and at a decent price.

Works Great!
First off I am hyper-independent, so I did this myself. The first window looks a bit rough but I got the hang of it there and was able to do the other French door window and front door perfectly. Make sure you have all the tools ready and some painters tape. I used the painters tape as an extra set of hands to hold the film in place while I worked it. Second, my backyard gets pretty direct afternoon sun but I like being able to see out, so this film helped with privacy and keeping the heat down. Plus my pets can still out. As for the front window, its convenient to have but I didn’t want everyone who came to the door to see in.

Helps keep the room cooler, but slight distortion on sight through the window.
Okay, so it is pretty easy to do a fairly good job applying this film, but I think it is somewhat difficult to do a perfect job on it. It is easy to goof up trimming the corners, which leads to a small amount of bubbling, or areas where you accidentally trimmed a hair too much and have clear glass at the edges. We won't install this on the one window that would probably make the biggest difference keeping our den cool in the afternoon, because it is a huge sliding glass door that gives us our best view of our back yard, and the sunsets, and the film causes a very slight amount of distortion that would detract from the view. But we did install it on our south facing windows, and the effect is amazing! A good amount of light still comes through, but not nearly as much heat as before.

Disappointed
I have always used a darker privacy film in the past. Thought this would be great for the winter but after I put it on it makes my window look dirty. Removed it after a week because it was just not "clear" but the view was slightly distorted. Will not buy silver again.

Best reflective film to work with
My favorite window darkening film. This is sturdy and easy to work with.

Check the material before you waste your time
Product had multiple defects that created issues with end installation on glass door. 1). Unrolling revealed surface scratches from the factory. 2). This too had roller dimples as did the other rolls I purchased and had to return. 3). Many creases were found when unrolling.

I found an alternative way to install it over vintage windows with lots of panes.
I have vintage double hung windows with 6 individual panes in each half. I cut one large piece to cover the entire area with glass. I tried several ways to hang it but ened up using a staple gun to attach it across the top, sides and botoom to keep the edges fairly flush with the wood. The windows face south and it cuts the temp 15-20° at the inside on the window. Since I do not have central air conditioning it makes it a lot easier to keep the room cool with a window air conditioner when the temp on the inside of the glass used to get to 94° before 10am on hot days. I also keep the heavy drapes closed when I'm not using that room. When the drapes are open there is plenty of light. So far I've done 4 windows 52x27 in one second floor bedroom. It's been up through two 1-week heat waves and I'm very pleased. I know this is not the prescribed application, but it works well for me and was not difficult to install. I was careful to put the side with the protective film to face the sun, then pulled the film down gradually as I attached the top, then the sides. Do not take off all the film off at once. Only release a few inches to attach the top first. It is not unsightly from the outside because it is mostly reflective of the sky when seen from ground level.

Works well
I'm on my second roll of this film It is not adhesive-based, which is good. It's been on a couple windows for over a year and no issues, no bubbling, hasn't come off. The film is on our west-facing side which gets blasted with summer sun. You can tell the difference as soon as you hold up the film. It's fairly obvious from outside that there is a film on the window. It's not a total mirror reflection, but noticeable, and that's fine. At times it just looks darker with a reflection. It's not too dark to distract from looking out. Like any film, it can be a pain to work with (measure, cut, soap, bubbles, etc). Definitely apply in shade. I ran late and ended up with some application in the sun and it dries out the soap/water too quickly and makes installation more difficult.

I installed it on two windows in my bedroom to reduce sunlight and it has been amazing. It was surprisingly easy to install, I just followed a YouTube tutorial and it comes with a squeegie and a cutter. Definitely doesn't need professional installation like some people said and it tooke. Less than half an hour to install on two windows

Very hard to install and it doesn’t look good at the end. But it does their job.
