AVON Skin So Soft Original Bath Oil - 16.9 oz - Moisturizing Body Oil

I love this oil. It works also to repel mosquitos. Just wish it had a squeeze or pump lid, I tend to make a mess when I put it on, lol. The aroma takes me back in time. Remember when the Avon lady came to your house in the old days?

Thos is a GREAT product but I admit I use it for other than the intended (?) purpose as a Mosquito repellent. LOL 😆 DON'T LAUGH as it really works well on humans AND pets, too. I used it a LOT when I had horses and flies and Skeeters stopped bothering us. Nice and pleasant fragrance without being overpowering.

I finally tried the Avon Skin So Soft Original Bath Oil after hearing about it for years, and I completely understand why this product has been around for so long. If you struggle with dry skin or just love adding an extra moisturizing step to your shower routine, this is such a nice product to have on hand. My favorite way to use it is right after a shower while my skin is still slightly damp. You only need a small amount, and it spreads really easily over the skin. I was worried that a bath oil might leave me feeling overly greasy, but when I use the right amount and apply it to damp skin, it leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft, smooth, and moisturized instead. The scent is definitely noticeable. It has a very distinctive clean, fresh, herbal scent rather than a sweet or floral fragrance. It does have that classic, somewhat nostalgic "Skin So Soft" smell, so I think the fragrance will come down to personal preference. I personally enjoy how fresh and clean it smells. I also really appreciate how versatile it is. You can add some directly to bath water for a moisturizing soak or use it after bathing as a body oil. The 16.9 oz bottle is also a generous size, especially since I don't need much product at one time. My skin feels noticeably softer after using this, particularly on areas that tend to get dry like my legs, arms, knees, and elbows. I especially think this would be wonderful during the colder months when regular body lotion sometimes isn't quite enough. Pros: very moisturizing, leaves skin extremely soft, a little goes a long way, large bottle, versatile, and great for dry skin. The only thing I'd mention is that it is an oil, so using too much can make your skin feel slick. Start with a small amount—you can always add more! Overall, I'm really impressed with this classic. It's simple, effective, and does exactly what I want a body oil to do. I would absolutely purchase it again, especially for keeping my skin moisturized after showers and during dry weather.

We decided to order a bundle to try as a "bug spray" I hadn't used Skin So Soft since I was a kid, and trying it again instantly reminded me why people swear by it. We take it camping with us and use it as a bug spray, and it definitely helps to keep the bugs away, especially on nights that are humid and way to warm for a campfire- but we still want to hang out outside. It leaves our skin feeling smooth, and it has a light, pleasant fragrance that we all remember and love. I would suggest adding a spray nozzle to the bottle to make the application quicker, and to help distribute the product more evenly. We love returning home without those giant, red, itchy mosquito bites that always seem to cover us! Thank you Skin So Soft! So much better than other typical bug sprays!!

It’s definitely moisturizing and smells really nice, but does not at all deter mosquitos. I really wanted it to work, but it did not. Will still use as a moisturizer and bath oil.

This stuff really is the holy grail of keeping mosquitos away! Out of desperation I bought a bottle in hopes to keep those evil mosquitos from eating me alive. Honestly, I don’t one single bite when I wear this and that’s a true miracle!! The bottle is very large yet the price is very reasonable. Hands down, this is one of the best purchases I have ever made.

Best skin protection before taking a shower.

I heard this could work to repel mosquitos so gave it a try. My partner usually gets eaten alive every holiday but used this product and didn’t get a single mosquito bite for the 3 week duration of our trip. Brilliant!
