Love these pencils, Just twist the top and you've got a sharpened pencil. like them better than the traditional ones.

Good quality mechanical pencils!
These are very nice mechanical pencils and I have used them for many years. The erasers work well and haven't dried out. I just have to keep them away from my pesky dachshund who enjoys chewing up pens, pencils, highlighters, etc.!

Long lasting mechanical pencils
I have used these pencils for many years and can attest to them being very long-lasting. I am a crossword (& other puzzles) addict and go thruโ many puzzle books in a year, as well as the daily newspaper ones. I am also a needlework artist. I work out all my crochet & counted cross stitch patterns on graph or engineering paper using these pencils. I especially like that they are twist-ups rather than the click-up type as I can more easily control the length of the exposed led I need and twist it back in as necessary. The soft pink erasers are more than adequate especially since there is often lots of erasing when laying out needlework patterns.! They are still #2 leads, but in recent years are not quite as soft as they once were so the color of the lead is somewhat lighter and sometimes the lead will pierce thruโ newsprint paper. Keep in mind, the lead in these pencils is not the same as what you get in the old standby wood pencils. (I still keep #2, 3 & 4 wood pencils around for other uses.). The only downside is that the pocket clip breaks off easily if it is clipped to anything too thick. I solved this for myself as I had saved some removable metal clips from a few dried up old stick-style pens that fit these pencils perfectly.

Very good mechanical pencils at a very reasonable cost.
These are very good mechanical pencils at a low cost per pencil for mechanical pencils.

Good, with one flaw
They write very nicely. The shock absorbing factor is very nice as well--lead doesn't break while you are writing and I feel like I don't find myself pressing as hard as I would with a normal mechanical pencil. The eraser works very well and leaves no marks behind. The price is good. The only reason I took one star off is because you have to twist the tip of the pencil to get more lead, rather than click near the eraser end. I didn't think anything of it at first, but now I am conscious of how often I have to advance the lead, because I have to stop taking notes in class and use both hands to twist it, rather than a quick click. When your professor is speaking at a lightning pace and you are trying to write key words, that extra second does matter. However, it is not a big enough issue that I will stop using these pencils, but it may influence whether or not I purchase them a second time, depending on the price and reviews of other mechanical pencils.

Our favorite mechanical pencils - we buy them by the truckload!
As a graphic designer, I love these pencils. They're a nice soft lead (but the lead doesn't break easily), and erase easily. We leave these all over the house, so it's nice to have a box of multiples so we've always got pencils in every room!

Never will use any other lead pencil brand again! :)
Ever since middle school I switched from the refillable pencils to this brand which is a twist to get more lead. In my opinion this is HANDS DOWN the best lead pencil I have ever used! First, the refillable pencils make noise, break, and need to buy refill packs which you need to handle by hand (Health Hazard?!?) causing you to lose precious time during your quizes, tests, papers, SAT, etc. The .7mm lead is also good for use on Scantrons, so your covered there Thus, I picked up this type of pencil and haven't looked back. The twist feature makes it quick to get more lead, the erasers on them allow me with precision to erase small mistakes my big PINK eraser can't accurately get to! I have never had a problem with the lead breaking with this type of pencil; EVER! Again, been using this type for years. Cons: The clip on it is easy to break and could possibly get caught on something. There is only a certain amount of lead in this pencil and it is NOT refillable, from what I know of. so I usually just throw it away. What I do to avoid getting myself in a rut during a test is to bring two of these with me in my backpack and keep up stock as I go through them. Gud luc in ur Decision! :)

Quality Control is Absent
This is my favorite mechanical pencil, I like it because the density of the graphite combined with the internal spring yield a really great writing experience. I ordered this pack of 12 to share that experience with my kids. The first 3 out of the box were defective, the graphite kept retreating back into the pencil. This resulted in an immediate request for return. I tested the other 9 and they were wildly inconsistent. Some graphite was really hard, unlikely to be HB#2 and two were really soft. Overall 4 were defective, 3 were too hard, 2 were really soft and 3 were similar to my original pencil. I realize I sound like goldilocks, and I will admit I spent more time than deserved on testing these for the greater cause. The color of the plastic is also noticeably a brighter, more acidic yellow than the version that has been my favorite for years. This experience made me sad.

These have changed for the worse!
My favourite pencil has greatly declined in quality. The pencil used to be more orange (or at least darker yellow) and now it is a bright yellow with very plastic feeling lead. I am wondering if I purchased a knock-off product because the pencil that was once amazing... is now horrible to write with. The lead is not nice and soft and the eraser is hard and feels like plastic. The pencils don't even feel the same to grip. I am so very disappointed.

Pick it up and right write.
Former draftsman here pre CAD, oh the joys of using a pencil to do all your layout work before inking in. I can relive those glory days with these 0.7mm auto pencils though it seems a shame to dispose when the lead runs out. I will just get some replacement leads and be back in business. Great value and the ergonomics are sweet.
