Vicks Waterless Menthol Vaporizer for Adults, 5 Pads

We needed the vapor therapy but can't tolerate the wetness of a humidifier. This was the perfect solution. I am well pleased with the results. The vaporizer is small and easy to use in any room. The only thing I would change, I'd like it to have an off/on switch.

This is big! This is the model that sits on a table, not the one that plugs directly into the wall outlet. I just got it in the mail today and I am surprised at how big it is. It is 5 inches by 5 inches, easily. It comes with these little medicated pads that feel dry but that give off this very strong scent if you turn the machine on high. I did, and I had to turn it down, because I found the smell too overpowering. I tested it this way because several people said they had a hard time smelling the scent. They must have had a bad cold at the time because I had no problem at all. Also, even though they tell you not to, you can use the pads that come with it again and again instead of buying expensive replacement pads, just refresh them with a few drops of essential oil. I bought a bottle of pure menthol and eucalyptus essential oil blend (with nothing else added)for this reason. And because I do not care very much for the smell of the pads that came with the machine (it is a slightly different blend), I put a couple of drops of the menthol eucalyptus blend right on the pad that is in the machine now.It is strong enough that I can smell it even in the next room. As you can use any essential oils you want for different scents, in these machines, I also bought some empty pads from the vapor-eze website, as it is cheaper than anyplace else I have seen. These too can be used again and again. This way I can switch pads and switch scents (the smell of the oil stays in the pads so you should only use a pad for one oil or oil blend). You are not supposed to touch any essential oils but you only dab a few drops on a pad and you never touch the oil at all, so it is no problem. This is a nice, cheap, aromatherapy machine. You do not have to use the pads that come with it and you do not have to buy expensive replacement pads. I am only sorry I did not buy it sooner as I have been struggling with walking pneumonia for nearly a month and am almost over it now. The machine could have helped a lot. By me, it is not sold in any brick and mortar store, so I finally took a chance and bought it sight unseen online. I am glad I did.

This is great because you can move from room to room no water mess. Kept next to me. Easy travel.

Easy to use. Slightly bigger than a drink coaster. Very lightweight, feels cheap, even the cord is heavy enough to move it all over the place or flip it. The vapor pads are such a small amount that I couldn’t tell if it was working at all. I actually looked for an expiration date to see if that was the problem. I also went to Walmart and bought new pad inserts and still didn’t seem to make a difference. This was in a very small room for a child so to smell it I’d have to try a closet. The light works well tho. so if you need a flemsy nightlight with a decent cord to plug it in then here you go. I’d never suggest this other than an emergency with no other options. I still had to get Eucalyptus essential oils and a plug in oil warmer. Save your money.

I got this for my 18 month old after seeing review. The smell of vaporub fill the room pretty quickly. When the room is kept closed the smell lasts to upto 12 hours. I did see improvement in breathing for my child. But her pediatrician was not recommending it. I used it again when I got sick and this was very effective. It helped me breathe better and sleep through the night. I used to used use a Personal Steam Inhaler earlier. It is too dangerous to use with toddlers around. This I can turn on just before sleeping and keep the device out of reach for children. Another plus for this comapred to the vaporizer liquid available to use with humidifier is that, the location of the holder which keeps the vaporizer is just above the steam vent and whenever I open the humidifier to clean/refill intense smelling liquid get all over the counter top. With Waterless valoprizer that is not a problem either. I will defenitely this for the adult members of the family in the future.

This works so much better than the wall plug in ones that look like night lights. With those you are limited where you can place it with straight plug into the outlet. With the cord it allows you to move it around and even put it on the headboard.

I ordered this product because the larger images on the listing showed a slider for off/high/low settings (model 1900). The model I have requires being unplugged to shut off (model 1800). I received the same model I have instead of the one I wanted (which I can get locally for less than half the price). Vicks was good enough to refund me so at least now I have a backup but it's not the product I wanted. If you're looking for the adjustable settings, look elsewhere. As a note, I use mine daily and have had it less than a six months and several of the little plastic tabs have broken. Also, the refills are slightly too big so you can't close the product securely. It does put out enough vapors to help me sleep and the issues don't seem to affect its function so it's still very useful.

I like that there is no steam to burn yourself on and that it doesn't make noises like the ones that take water do. It works well, the vapors fill one whole room 12x12 ish. I use the vaposteam liquid to moisten the pads and it does great. Wish I had bought this sooner!

Came quickly from Hawaii to Japan. Comes with a few pads already. Nice Vicks smell without the windows being fogged up.

Love this product. Love that I do not have to put water in as I am retired and find it hard to carry a vaporizer that has water. Advise elderly people to purchase.
