Well....the product is 100% biodegradable and doesn't even require rinsing after use, so I would not be afraid to use it. It is a good product, makes the floor look great and has a pleasant scent.

Can this be diluted less and sprayed on tile floors and allowed to 'work' for 10-15 minutes and then lightly mopped for course floor tile?

I use a Dupont cleaner now on my stone floors with is mixed one quarter Dupont to three quarters of water it works VERY well on high polished travertine to clean and shine. I don't use this product.

what does this smell like? it is pleasant, fresh? or overwhelming?

It smells fresh and clean and definitely not overwhelming. It does a good job on my floor tile as well.
