Excellent Monitor if you want to avoid paying huge dollars ...
Excellent Monitor if you want to avoid paying huge dollars for thunderbolt displays that burnout in a few years. But note, these monitors are built so that they are built more narrow, hence the 21:9 display as compared to the usually 16:9 or 16:10. If you have small area for a workspace with say a sloped roof, in an attic or nook type area this monitor would be excellent due to it's design. Display is sharp and the IPS 2560x1080 is outstanding.

Misleading bezels, huge field of view.
For the price, for me it is a tough call. I don't buy many expensive tech items, and generally rely on used or hand-me-down items. Overall, using Windows 8.1 on this screen has been very favorable. The split screen features of the operating system and of the monitor give it a lot of practical purposes. After playing around with this, I feel it would work best with a second monitor, not side by side, but in an L shape. One for vertical web browsing, and the other laterally for media productions, art, etc.... I would do that, with a standard 1920x1080 screen to round it out for general purposes. Screenshots Lateral format: [...] Vertical format: [...] As you can see, depending on the purpose, it can hold a ton of content without scrolling. But in lateral format, on webpages like facebook, you will be scrolling a lot. Or if you have it turned vertically, you might find yourself scrolling left and right a lot. As such, this is more of a specific purpose monitor. It works best in either or format. A standard 1920x1080 will give the most well rounded experience for general users. When I use this for playing portal, my lateral field of view is awesome, but not so much vertically. Some complaints The bezel is larger than the example photo on Amazon. The LCD panel has a black bar that no settings can eliminate. It is there, and it makes the bezles on the left and right of the screen 0.5 inches wide on each side. So if you have two of these side by side, you will still have an inch wide black space between the two screens. This is very disappointing to me, I will update this review if I do find a way to fix this, because I did want to use two of these side by side, and potentially one vertically if I decide to get a TV or something to round them all out. The bezel at the top of the screen is also slightly convex in shape, so you can't have one positioned directly on top flush with the frame. Likewise you will still end up with a full inch black bezel between the two. Overall, I find the colors to be accurate when positioned properly and I am sitting in the center. The viewing angle is easily affected because of the wide view. Overall I don't see any distortion of colors, but more so just differences in brightness. The monitor did not have any dead pixels on it, and performance wise, I have been satisfied with every feature and functionality of it excluding the bezel. Note: No built in speakers. Note: Annoying LG logo on the front, not illuminated, but I still covered it with black tape. For the price compared to other 21:9 displays, This is worth it. It is a tough call if I will buy another in the future as of now. Update 3/2015: I've found that the bezel is present in the other example photos of actual screenshots on Amazon, but not on the grey screen shot used by default. I've also discovered that difference cannot be affected with any setting. It is an actual border framing the LCD panel that is absent any liquid crystals to display images. If they were just illuminated as black" or off, they would still smudge color if physically touched. As such, the screen/panel extends from plastic to plastic. I.e the frame/shell of the monitor that houses everything. But the presence of liquid crystal of the display extend in all direction up to 0.5" inches from the plastic shell. So no setting, or projection or source of image will eliminate it. Update 2/8/2016: I'm pretty sure my monitor has a dying backlighting bulb. No means of adjusting any settings anywhere improves the situation. Compared to my other display, it looks like I have the backlight setting at 50% even though all the settings are maxed out. So I'm going to have to get that bulb replaced myself since it is out of warranty. So buy the extended warranty, it may save you the trouble if you have this problem or something else happen.

Fantastic crisp monitor can accept multiple input.
Monitor is fantastic! In addition to being able to "divide" the screen into areas, you can treat each area as a separate monitor. The monitor will also accept input from dual sources. If you want split screen you have to use DVI input. Love the monitor and the crisp display. Instructions indicate you must run max resolution for best results, but that is tiny txt. You can run at a larger resolution and still have side by side displays. Monitor can slso be divided into four virtual monitors.

Great replacement for dual monitors when space is limited, the base is a problem
If you like dual monitors but don't like the desk space they take up... then this is the monitor for you. If you do purchase the monitor, I recommend pairing it with the Tyke Supply Single LCD Monitor Stand (monitor arm). Pros: - Great image quality - No dead pixels - Great color - Side-by-side windows fit nicely without scrolling most of the time. Cons: - The monitor base is flimsy. If the desk shakes a little, the monitor does wiggle back and forth due to the stand, which makes a small clicking sound as the base flexes. - The monitor base is short and without height adjustment. - The monitor arrived with the language set to Vietnamese or Korean and all include documentation was in the same language. It took a solid 30 minutes of fumbling through the foreign language monitor on screen menu before I changed it to English but fear not, the option is there. Final thoughts: the base is definitely a negative to consider but if you combine it with a monitor arm/stand then you've got a winner.

I really like this monitor
I really like this monitor. I purchased two. I have Macbook Pro 2013 late version. I connect them with 1 HDMI cable and 1 Display port. Both are working very well and I'm very satisfying the high resolutions and performances. Only thing that I could not aware before is that even thought this is 25 inch display, the size came from horizontal length. So, you might feel tight vertical view but for me it's fine.

Nice but very short
No english menus or owners guide. screen comes up in Asian lang. and paper quick guides also in Asian Lang. If you have mac, very limited, HDMI does not give you full pixel possible. I ordered DP cable to try that way. Nice wide screen but very short so windows/pages require more scrolling. I have hooked to new mac mini. Wish I had gone to best buy and bought the LG 29um65 29" instead. It is much better. On sale now for $399. Still prefer my 27" Apple display I have at home. Bought this one for work. Wide screen is helpful, and do not totally regret purchase.

... a triple monitor set-up with this monitor and really like it. But do your homework first
I am running a triple monitor set-up with this monitor and really like it. But do your homework first. If you are a gamer - not all games are supported at 21:9 which may be frustrating for some. Great for productivity (editing with Adobe Premiere on here is a treat) and movie watching is awesome. I also have the 29 inch 21:9 monitor by LG on my other workstation and really like that monitor as well.

it is complete waste of money
Do not buy this , it is complete waste of money, for starters do not trust these 8-9 reviews that are in here they are all fake, i spend 12 hours in front of computer a day and i have been doing this for last 7 years at least. it is the most difficult setup for a monitor once you do mange to hook it up the text quality is so poor you will be upset, also the split screen feature does not work with mac book pro. This is not mac compatible i tired my other split screen also from lg( works great with windows 7), it worked just as well with my mac book pro, it just says it in the description for mac users to buy this. i can guarantee more and more people will leave reviews like this, i wish i would have waited for honest reviews before buying this crap. 7 -12 reviews are usually from the developers and friends do not trust any of these fakers. Save you money do not buy this.

Great Monitor, a little pricey though
This monitor is fantastic. The 21:9 aspect ratio is perfect and I don't think I can ever go back to 16:9. Wish I had saved for a bit longer and splurged on the 34" 3440x1440 version, but this monitor is still very amazing.

good for prodictivity bad for anything else
Mine came with a missing hdmi cable and scrathes along the bezel. SO i returned it and got it exchnaged for a diffrnt model. I would recommend if you are looking for a gaming monitor then dont get it because its barely bigger than a 20 inch monitor in terms of its height and most games dont support 2560 by 1080..they will just streth the picture to fill up the frame. The ability to have 2 fullsize windoes open is huge tho

LOVE it!
I love this monitor. It would be perfect if it was matte instead of glossy, it attracts dust like crazy. Putting windows side-by-side makes what looks like two 3:4 smaller monitors, great for multitasking.
