Supersluice Gold Pan, 15"

Works very well. I used some 220 grit sandpaper to make sure the gold stuck better and I ended up finding gold in my first pan full. It's big enough to work a lot of material and very sturdy. Gold and black sand shows up very well.

This is one serious gold pan! So if you are a serious gold prospector or hoping to be one pick this pan up. Yes truly the Gold Rush is on but not as much as you would think there are a lot more people out looking for gold than there were 15 years ago but considering back in the 1800's all the way to the 1950's gold stayed under 30.00 an ounce and now it is 1300.00 an ounce the only reason one is not out looking for gold is pure laziness. There is not much else you can do that has the potential of making you 600+ dollars a day for a good hard working day of shoveling. Certainly not ditch digging! It will get you into Rock Star shape again and maybe make you a little bit happier and richer. communing with nature hearing the flowing stream, enjoying the wind in the pine trees and of course lots and lots of GOLD!!!! This Pan will Get you some for sure, The ridges are deep and that combined with the fact that gold is 19 times heavier than water once you get your stratification technique down you will not be losing that GOLD!!! Of course the secret is to be digging in a hole that has gold to begin with! I have been using the 14 and 10 inch Garrett pans for years I have also used the Roaring Camp Gold Saver Pan. All are great pans but to tell you the truth, this one is it is a bit over whelming when you first open the box at 15 inches this pan is huge!!! Its only 1 inch larger than what I am used to but that one in is quite a bit! Size does matter after all, at least in the world of gold pans. The ridges are deep and it is an amazing pan I cannot wait to hit the creek. it is an amazing deal and less than 9.00 when this pan first came out mining stores it my area were selling it for 35.00. You cannot go wrong it is well made beautiful and if it is too big for your hands it will look really cool hanging on a nail in the house! What a Screaming Deal!!! Thanks Garrett and Amazon. I really enjoy the size and sturdiness of the Garrett Super Sluice gold pan. However, there is a catch... The riffles are so large that when you pan your material, you end up with a lot of concentrates in that first riffle. This means that you'll have a lot more material to work through when you back pan it. I highly recommend running your paydirt through a classifier to keep the big, disruptive material out of that first riffle in the pan. I was able to capture very fine flour as well as larger pickers with confidence. Deducted one star in the review because there is only one pair of large riffles. Another set of smaller riffles would be nice to have as well.

Each pan has their own character, a combination of quirks, flaws, strengths, deep scratches, etc… This pan can go through material quickly without losing gold. The size is great, it’s nice and deep, and it pairs very nicely with my all plastic Garrett classifier… I first thought that I might use this pan to do the initial bulk of the processing and switch to a different pan when I got down to mostly black sand and gold… But this pan does a great job at the finer stages as well… I’ve seen reviews where some love it and some don’t… I think the folks that don’t love it are not using it properly. My guess is that they don’t understand how quick and aggressive you can be with this pan and still keep a hold of all the gold… I tested it myself using pure black sand and 14 tiny flakes of placer… I mixed that really well with dirt and gravel, and tested to see how fast is too fast… Even at my most aggressive, I got all 14 pieces of gold. That gave me a ton of confidence in its abilities at the stream… And no, I never “season” my plastic pans… That happens naturally the very first time you use any plastic pan (I honestly think that seasoning hokey was started as a joke on newbies, just to see if they were gullible enough to take sand paper and soap to a plastic pan) Anyway… This is a great pan with a very good design.

Amazing piece of equipment. Cost more than I could have got from the site but with amazon prime worked out the same without the 2 week wait. How does anyone not have prime now. If your just getting into panning or are seasoned at it I definitely recommend this pan. I panned off some old tailings I have had kicking around and found a lot more small flakes and powdered gold. If you can only get one pan this is it.

Well designed, strong and durable having to endure rocky rivers and streams.The ridges on one side do make panning quicker and easier for a novice and as you become more practiced you have the option of the smooth side.

Great pan! Large to run more material. Got a few flakes on try e first go and catches flour gold pretty good too! Use it on my claim here in the Yukon.

Much better than any of my other pans, Great big ripple which even stops 100 mesh partials running off.And the delivery was first class on time.
