Great paints, mysteriously named colors
Mijello and I have had a two-year journey. A couple years ago, a year and a half after I started painting with watercolors (I used to paint with oils and draw a lot), I got the Mission Gold set with the 36 smaller tubes and the huge palette. I gave away the palette, but I've continued to use the Mission Gold tubes. I got used to the way that they don't move as much wet-on-wet as some paints do, and I found for some paintings, that was a plus. I got used to the fact that these won't fully dry in pans as they're honey-based. And I really liked the colors. And over time, while I used many other brands - among them, Daniel Smith, Da Vinci, MaimariBlu, Holbein, Rembrandt, Lukas and Sennelier - I found I kept coming back to Mission Gold. Not for everything, but I enjoyed them and liked the colors. When I first saw this set - Mijello Mission Gold Water Color Set, 34 Colors (15ml tubes for $88, wow!), I figured they had to be fakes. But reading the reviews and talking to the marketplace seller, that didn't seem likely. So I finally pulled the trigger. First off, the packaging of this set is gorgeous! The presentation is by far the best of any set of paints or pencils I own. If you want to wow a painter with a gift, this beautiful box with the cardboard ribbon that fits the box graphics perfectly is it, and on the back is the color chart with lightfast and pigment info. You can cut it out and keep it in the box. There's a flyer inside showing all the colors in the line, and the paints have a sheet of black foam over them to protect them. Each 15 ml tube is fitted in its own location. If you're familiar with the smaller 7 ml tubes from the palette set, good news is that the caps on these larger tubes are much easier to open and close. None of the paint in my tubes had separated, but if they do, it's not a huge deal to mix it back up. The Mijello Mission Gold watercolor paints are well-saturated, work well on dry and wet paper, mix well with water, and I've mixed many beautiful colors with them. It took me a while to fully appreciate them, but I love painting with them. These paints have some quirks or differences when it comes to the naming vs the pigments. None of these paints have any Cadmium or Cobalt, so you might be surprised to find a Cerulean Blue, but this is actually a hue. The Veridian is actually Phthalo Green, a color I like but it's not Veridian. And a couple of the browns are odd mixes of pigments for colors that are usually made from PBr7. The Permanent Yellow Deep is usually called Hansa Yellow Deep, and it's one of my favorites. They also sort of got creative with a few color names while using standard paint pigments, but honestly I don't mind. I might have lowered the rating on these paints by 1 point due to the oddities, but honestly the price can't be beat for artist quality paints, so I gave it the point back. Btw, I've been told that this paint is vegetarian but it's not vegan since it has honey in it. While there's no Cadmiums in this set, there are several paints that use nickel (pigment PY150, which is nickel azo yellow) for those avoiding it. What stands out for me about this paint is the feeling when painting it paper, the lower amount of movement when painting wet-on-wet, allowing more control when you want it while still having enough movement to spread beautifully. The colors are vivid, many are transparent, and I've mixed some gorgeous colors with it. I did replace the Yellow Ochre No 1 that comes with this set with their Yellow Ochre No 2, which I prefer. While these aren't the paints I'd recommend if you dry all your paints in pans, as it stays a little sticky when it's dried thick, I love these paints, and I'm glad the excellent price finally tempted me into ordering the set. If you're moving up from student grade paints or just want to try something new, I definitely recommend these.

Love, love, love these colors
After doing some research I went ahead and got these. The colors are beautiful and I'm quite happy with these. Apparently there are three different sets; Asian, US, and EU. They have the same 31 colors and then the other 3 are different based on the type of set. Such as the US set has Chinese White, Ivory Black and Perm Alizarin Crimson. Whereas the Asian set has Crimson Lake, Red Violet, and Bright Clear Violet. I got the Asian set, which I don't mind as it had some of the colors I wanted and I don't really use black or white. These are beautiful and vibrant colors. A little goes a very, very long way. I'm still trying to get used to the amount needed to get the desired effect. I've been able to do some mixing with these and they blend beautifully and consistently. The pigments are listed on each tube as well as on the color chart provided. These are some beautiful paints and well worth it!

Artist quality pigment and lightfastness
As a Watercolorist I've tried many brands and I've my favorites as everyone does. I did a lot of research on this product before buying it... This is a fairly new brand in the watercolor arena and most diehard Watercolorist refuse to try the tried and true older name brands. I understand the reason, being we have to be sure on lightfastness. This product has fantastic pigment and great lightfastness. Colors are bright, beautiful and true. They mix just as well and in some cases better then some of my other more expensive brands. My next purchase on my wish list is for the Crush line in the same brand that all the tubes contain pure pigment. After checking out the gouache line they have it is the same as this box but with white to mix into each to color. To me not worth buying the gouache set when you can do the same with this set. I completely recommend this product for artists.

Awesome artist quality paints!
I am a beginner at watercolor. I mean I have done watercolor before but mainly in school and I have always loved arts and crafts. But just really getting into watercolor recently I picked up a couple sets of watercolors from micheals, the pan set and the tube set both being $4.99 the tubes were pretty much trash, and the pan was pretty good or so I thought. I then decided after using those paints for about a month that I needed to get an artist quality set to preform better for my artistic abilities. After doing much research I decided on the mijello mission gold class watercolors, for the price, and from what I could see on the Internet the awesome bright colors. After using this set for a few days now I think I can officially say that these are artist quality paints they perform so much nicer than the cheaper paints and in comparison are so much brighter and translucent. I have not personally tried other artist quality paints so I can't really say these are the best out of all of them but what I can say is that I will be sticking to this set for quite sometime and am estatic to have purchased these paints! All I need now is some good quality paper! 100% 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Brillaint color but blues vary little in hue
It's generally a good deal. My only beef is that the cerulean blue, the peacock blue, and the cobalt blue vary little in hue. They could have sent 1 tube of phtalocyanine blue that would have covered all 3. So I had to order seperately a maganese blue after testing the for a lighter blue hue. If you look closely at their color chart you can see what I mean. Which I didn't do before purchasing. The greens, reds and yellows are satisfactory. Basically these appear to be dye based pigment hence the incredible brilliance. Because of this I don't expect them to be color fast. I could care less about that. I don't expect my stuff to hang in the Louvre. After testing I ordered some opaque colors like Naples Yellow or giallo di Napoli, Jaune Brilliant 1, Shell Pink, Brilliant, Lavender, Blue Gray, Horizon Blue and Titanium White. I'll let you know how that works out.

Pigmentan muy bien, gama de color variada, al destaparlos por primera ves se desperdicia un poco de producto, ya que sale como si lo apachurraras, supongo que esto pasa con los productos que vienen en esa presentación, estaría genial que incluyera un godete

I rarely write reviews but this product deserves a good one. I own every Daniel Smith and Winsor and Newton Artists Watercolour tubes. These are their equal and, if you like to fill a palette and use them like pans, they ar the best for this as they remain soft to the touch even after two year out of the tube (unliek W&N which go rock hard). The colours are wonderfully vibrant. They are lightfast, with the exception of Opera Rose (which is not usually lightfast in any brand) and Peacock Blue. As they work out at only £3 a 14ml tube they are excellent value at a fraction of the usual price.
