Good Quality, Works Good, Easy to Program, Extend the Antenna!!!
Fantastic little unit! Took no time at all to install, programming was super simple and worked right away on our vehicles. The included fob for programming worked great, the instructions were simple and easy to follow. My Vevor roll up door openers have a 24v output to power it, so one door powers it without any additional power supply needed, just ran a couple pieces of Cat5e to each opener because its what i had on hand and its more then sufficient for the really low current for the power supply and the contact closure. A note on range, as mentioned in the comments extend the antenna! I straightened out the antenna and ran straight up out of one of the ventilation slots on the top of the case as mine is mounted inside the garage out of the weather, i see some reviews that don't understand why its not in a weatherproof box, it wasn't intended to be, for most applications you would just mount it inside next to your garage door opener, so yes its not in a waterproof box, it doesn't need to be! Read people.... As for those using them for outdoor driveway gates, those usually have a weatherproof enclosure over them as well, so tuck it up under that, really not that hard to understand. I need to tidy up my wiring a bit more so don't judge the review picture based on that, i left extra wire length because i will be adding a smart relay for activating the doors in parallel to the HLR01 to give me the option to open and close the doors with my phone as well, so if im outside i don't have to go inside just to open a door without having the vehicle or fob handy. Great value for the money on this unit, $50 to add Homelink function to my doors was a steal of a deal because otherwise i was stuck with battery operated fobs that came with my door openers, i have roll up doors and used a couple of the Vevor openers to give me automatic doors finally.

Nice add on feature to your vehicle.
I bought the Topens HomeLink receiver for my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Nov 2024. The instructions were easy to follow and program the receiver. After programing my Jeep this system works great. You now have the luxury of using the HomeLink system that comes with most new vehicles.

Good solution for topens equipment
After more than 1 year of ownership I am mostly satisfied with this purchase. The device works great when installed correctly. I have mine mounted inside weather proof plastic box and have had intermittent issues with signal loss / interference with the remotes. I recently learned that the antenna should be uncoiled and exposed outside the box. This has made a significant improvement in signal accuracy and distance. All other install steps work as described. Pairing with my vehicles has been inconsistent where I was only able to get one of 2 homelink mirrors working.

Does what it needs to - customer support is great
I wasn't super excited I needed to buy something to make this work with our cars. But I looked into why Homelink is what it is and I get it. Bought one and it was a simple connect and worked right out of the box. The configuration in the cars was more about those than this device, but the receiver worked...for a while. After a couple months, one vehicle stopped working but I didn't pursue it because I still had the opener (one with the gate and one with the HLR01 - both still worked). Then it stopped working on the other vehicle. I contacted support and this is where I'm really happy. Evelyn responded quickly. She gave good information. I received actual instruction and feedback from the videos/picture I provided. We went through consecutive steps a little more than "turn it off and turn it on again" and the things that make someone somewhat knowledgeable feel like an idiot. After three short exchanges, a replacement was on its way. Arrived quick, installed just as easily as the first time, and we're off to the races again.

Works great for retrofitting old openers with new remotes and homelink integrations!
I can't speak to long term reliability, as I just installed two of them, but I can speak to functionality as a general purpose garage opener retrofit, which is quite good. You will need to find a 12v adapter (some USB phone chargers will do that if you find the right pair). I have a pile to pick through that I have accumulated over the years, and they are easy to find and buy). They just have to run a reciever and a relay, so a 5w or better should be plenty. And you will need a garage door opener that uses either a normally open or normally closed "contact switch" (all of the garage openers I have had use normally open contact switched for the inside wall switch). The device has two relays, one that fires with the A button on the remote, and one that fires on the B button. And each relay has three contact terminals exposed. So you have two buttons that control two relays, and each relay can be hooked up to anything that needs to be momentary closed or momentary open as needed. I took it a step further, we have two garage doors, so I bought two of these. I hooked the first door up to one of these with the A relay, and the second door to another one of these with the B relay. Then I programmed both remotes to both openers. So the A button opens the first door, and the B button opens the second door, from either remote. Then I programmed the cars (2019 Audi and 2021 Volvo) homelink transmitters, which synced up nicely with the signal from the remotes. So works from the cars as well. So, for the money, I retrofitted two old openers that were really limited and that had falling apart remotes with these, and got 9 memory slots for openers (4 used now) and two nice compact decently built (it seems) new remotes. And the old remotes and openers continue working as they were. So, great for hacking up new life into old openers. Hopefully the opener and remotes hold up!

Poor range caused by an un-soldered antenna. Fixed it myself.
The device out of the box and properly installed only had a range of about 10 feet. This quickly became very frustrating so I decided to open it up and consider installing a new antenna (I'm an EE). Upon opening the unit I noticed the antenna was coiled up behind a small PCB and placed over the rest of the main circuit board (not ideal). I decided a quick test would be to uncoil the antenna and stick it out of the box. Upon doing that, I found that the antenna was in fact NOT SOLDERED to the PCB. I soldered the antenna on and now I get a range of greater than 30 feet, even with the garage door closed, CFL lights nearby etc. So, as received, my device was defective. I was able to fix mine...

Extremely short range
Great update for older gate openers but jas extremely short operating range of 10 to 12 feet MAXIMUM. No external antenna nor antenna port for antenna. Have to drive up withon gate impact zone to activate, then back quickly away to avoid being hit by gate. Have not yet tried Homelink sync function but short range operation may require removal for another model in lieu of this selection. Update..HomeLink function does not operate with 2019 GMC or 2024 BMW. Unit failed 50 days after installation and is non returnable.

It's a WIN!
Works... I think. I haven't had an opportunity to connect it to the garage door (for a customer) yet. But, I did connect it to a power supply, took it out to my car, set it up with the HomLink in my car and the relays clicked like they were supposed to... I'm calling this one a WIN! The setup was easy since the instructions were very clear. I'm assuming that clearing it and starting over will be just as easy. Just note that there is a long shipping time for this item.
