TOP quality - Finally a reliable, professional grade product
This is the one to get for a good, snug, safe connection. The vast majority of plug adapters I've seen are of very poor quality. The "universal" ones don't fit well into sockets and don't provide a good fit for your own plugs. They also tend to be made of two-piece hard plastic shells that can come apart, exposing dangerous connections. This model is design so that both sides -- the US side and the UK side -- meet the kinds of standards and expectations you'd have for a plug built onto an appliance made solely for that location. The single piece, molded, soft plastic outer housing is seamless and won't come apart. The design allows you a firm and comfortable grip for plugging and unplugging the adapter to the socket and your own equipment to the adapter. The connections inside look to be solid copper as and fit your plug well. This is exactly what I'd been looking for.

A durable, well made adapter
I have two kids studying in the UK and travel there frequently. A lot of travel adapters use brittle plastic for the housing which really does not handle travel that well. These are very sturdy and are fused so they will give some protection to your electronics. They are somewhat large which I actually like because it makes them easy to find when you are rooting around in your luggage. A note for those who have not travelled abroad: these are NOT transformers. You can't plug your hair dryer into this and use it in the UK. These only work with a transformer / charger that can use UK power which is 50 hertz / 240 volt. Most cell phone and computer chargers can use both US and UK power and these will work in those cases. However, you should always look at your charger to make sure. It should have the acceptable hertz and voltage range marked on it. Also note, this is not a "universal" adapter. Plug styles vary widely across the world.

Great product, when it works correctly, needs heavier gauged fuze, go with a 15A not a 5A
Bought this back in June 2013, for a trip to Ireland in July. When we got there, I quickly found out that it did fit the Irish BS1363 outlets and did convert the US plugs perfectly. Things seemed promising for using this adapter, until, that is... Until I plugged the adapter up to my Macbook charger and inserted the adapter into the wall (at this B&B that I was staying at) and noticed there was not any power going to the computer. I remembered that the outlets in Ireland have switches on them (sort of like a light switch, but affixed to the same cover as the outlet) so I checked to see that the power was on, it was. I plugged up a coffee maker to the outlet that was in my room, and found out that it was getting power, as the coffee maker was warming up. This happens on day 1 of 11 BTW. I remembered that this adapter is fuzed, so I removed the fuze cover (nearly impossible without a flat-head BTW) and immediately noticed that the fuze was busted, blown, bad, etc. In a panic, I start running around looking for another tubular 5 amp fuze to replace the original one with, but couldn't find a nearby store that sold them. I became worried that I wouldn't find a replacement and was afraid that I'd have no way of recharging my electronics, especially considering that the trip was my wedding/honeymoon trip! I returned to the B&B and spoke to the owner, she allowed me to check the coffee maker for a fuze and said I could have it if there was one in there that would work. THANKFULLY, there was a 15 amp fuze that was compatible, and worked flawlessly for me during my entire trip. My advise to those of you looking to buy one of these is, #1 replace the stock fuze with a heavier grade one, I replaced the 5A with a 15A and it worked great. #2 have a couple back-up fuzes readily available in your luggage just in case the first one goes out. #3 if you cant find a replacement fuze at a local store, check the appliances in your room (ask first) and use it if your in a bind. ***Had this worked with no flaws, I would have given it a 5 out of 5, but all in all, it was worth the $, and is reliable (when working)

Well built and doesn't fall apart like other adapters!
These adapters are solid and feel very well designed -- molded, instead of glued together. I've bought cheaper adapters in the past, but after 10-20 uses in older, stiffer outlets, they've fallen apart, leaving exposed live copper (which in europe at 220V is a very bad thing!). I've started buying only these adapters, since I don't have to replace them, and don't have to worry about getting shocked. Highly, highly recommend the SF Cable adapters.

worked in Ireland
We just took two of these with us to Ireland. Mainly to use for our Kindle and phone to charge. They worked great for us. This is not a voltage adapted, only the adapter to make it fit their outlets. Just make sure your chargers are dual voltage (it will say on them, though you might have to get a magnifying glass to read it!)

Finally found a good adapter
This is the first power adapter I've found that I am completely satisfied with. It plugs and receives plugs securely. It is solid and well made and even has a little heft for it's size (though not too heavy to travel with.) I have used both this adapter and the 90 degree one. Both work well. I did find that this version works with my monster intl portable surge protector while the 90 degree version doesn't allow it to clear the wall.
