Works Well
this is the first time I have used this product and was very impressed. I wish I had known about it sooner. The function of this over having to sew closed open seams makes it a winner. The functionality, stickiness, quality, and value for my money made this a good buy. I am hoping it will hold, making it a very durable option for me.

The modern way to hem!
A few years ago a younger friend suggested these to me and I've never looked back. Easier that dragging out the sewing machine! Still, there is a bit of technique so give yourself time (don't be in a hurry) and be calm. Once you get the strips ironed in the hem will stay through washings because they adhere well so they are quite durable and you won't have to re-do it again if you do it right the first time! Considering the price of thread this method is a good value for the price.

Easy way to hem curtains
I used the Steam-A-Seam 2 double stick to hem some curtains in my living room as I have no patience for sewing. It took me maybe a total of 20 minutes to do including pinning to where I wanted them hemmed and ironing the hem. You don't have to sit there with the iron over the tape for eternity, it adhered pretty quickly. All I had to use was one long piece along the top of the hem and a short piece at each end where i rolled the fabric up. I was nervous that there may be wrinkles where the tape is as it is lighter fabric, but that didn't happen. I was lazy and just folded the original hem up 2 times instead of cutting and was worried again, figuring I'd pay for my laziness and it wouldn't stick, but it actually worked out and stuck through 3 layers of fabric. Like I said before, this is a thinner fabric, so it may not work as well with a thicker fabric. I still had plenty left over after this "project" and was actually a little disappointed that I couldn't find anything else in my home that could use some hemming! Would highly recommend this to anyone, especially those who dislike sewing.

Perfect for stabilizing hems and seams with tricky fabrics!
While you CAN use this to finish hems all on their own, it is INVALUABLE as an aid to help stabilize seams and hems with tricky fabric. My fave application is with knits - it helps stabilize the edge and hold the seam in place so you can get a very stable, professional look to your seams. I use the 1/2" and 1/4", apply to seam, iron on, and then stitch my hem - either with singe or double needle. You can do the same thing with slinky fabrics like silk or satin, as they tend to shift and stretch when sewing. :-)

sewing must for knits.
I use this product to secure hems on sleeves and the bottom of knit shirts. This method prevents stretching of the fabric when sewing.
