The mat is vinyl, which I didn't realize when ordering (completely my fault, I didn't read closely enough). Speaking as an X-Wing player: as vinyl mats go it's good, although if I'd bought it at full price I'd be less satisfied. If you can get this on sale or need 48"x48" instead of 36"x36", do it - otherwise spend the same amount of cash on a neoprene mat instead.
