Has this filter been discontinued and replaced with a new filter number?

No, not at all. A little over 2 years ago this filter replaced a Merv 10 filter with the same dimensions. There are no plans to discontinue this filter

i have amazon prime, why is it taking a week to ship?

We don't know where you are located, but we only offer this item as "Prime" with 2-day shipping within the UPS 2 day ground delivery area from Ohio. If you are outside that area the product is not offered as prime because the shipping costs are much higher and it can take it can take as long as 5 days to get to you. But we ship all non prime orders received before 10 AM the same day and orders received after that the next day. The estimated delivery time shown is probably a day longer than when it will actually arrive.
