Tombow Ballpoint Pen Zoom707 Deluxe

This is an excellent Japan import pen that uses D1 refills in a sleek, effective, and elegant design. It feels just a bit weightier than the mechanical pencil variant. The mechanism is a twist-action pen (similar to the Rotring 800 and old-style mechanical pencils prior to the push-click) where you twist the plunger and hemisphere at the top to extend/retract the D1 pen tip. Replacing the refill is simple enough: Screw off the tip cap similar to the mechanical pencil version and pull out the D1 refill currently inside. Replace, push it in, screw the cap back on, and it's ready to go with any cartridge that you wish to use. Ink and signatures rules the world of paperwork and the office. This is a very stylish way to go about it.

I keep the pen in a 3.5 x 5 inch Moleskin notebook. Because of it's small diameter is does not distort the book. I get a lot of remarks from coworkers, unique, good looking pen. I've had 4 or 5 now.

I really like the feel of this pen although I continue to attempt to use it like a click pen (time and use will correct that). It writes well and fits nicely in my notebook. Don't expect it to fit like a full-size pen though it's not meant to. Might be a little overpriced but I would still pay that as it fits my needs perfectly!

Appearance of the product is quite disimilar to the Tombow products I purchased several times in the past. Quality and finishing is quite poor. Almost all the pens stopped working due to drying of the ink. Never happened before.
