The Promised Neverland, Vol. 1: Grace Field House eBook : Shirai, Kaiu, Demizu, Posuka: desertcart.co.uk: Kindle Store Review: A classic apparently - Our book-crazy daughter first developed a passion for (expensive) graphic novels then she got introduced to Japanese manga and decided to work through this series, of which there are potentially many books translated into English (although there are about 10 available in English right now). I’ve already found that some of the books in the series are hard to find and you got to be careful not the order the German or Italian version. Our young reader finds the first story in this magna series very suspenseful an fascinating, which in turn promises much for the subsequent books. The story is about a small group of bright children each with a specific personality in an orphanage where the outside world is not what it seems. The mysterious story line has science fiction and horror elements as well. The graphics are decent, but it’s all in black and white and as a more traditional parent I guess I’m more in favour of American and continental comic book art. However if my little bookworm is happy, I am happy. Review: Great idea for a gift - The product arrived in very good condition. I cannot say anything about the story since I bought it as a gift for this Christmas but it is one of the recommended manga for young adults. I am hoping the receiver will like it and I'll come back once I got a review from her.

A beautiful and an intriguing story make The Promised Neverland one to keep up with!
I was umm-ing and ahh-ing about whether to buy this manga for the longest time, and now that I have I am hooked! I will try to give you a bit of information without spoiling anything/ The story is about a group of orphans living their lives in the peaceful Grace Field orphanage under the rule of the kindly "Mom". Our protagonists Emma, Ray and Norman are the smartest and most athletic of all the children, revealed through a test that they have to undertake everyday. Life seems as it should in this quiet orphanage, but it's when one of the children is sent away to a foster home that the book really gets interesting. I feel this is one of the better written mangas I have read, purely because of the intricate and intriguing plot threads woven throughout the series. Hints are left throughout the book as to the true intention of the orphanage, and just when you think everything is a-ok something else new and exciting happens. I love reading the planning and thought the children put into everything they do. The artwork is also beautiful. Action scenes are easy to follow and the characters are all so full of expression. Each character truly has their own personality, and it really shows through in the art. All in all, I really recommend getting into this series if you are a fan of slice-of-life manga or dramas!

Perfect and now need the next one!!
I’ve recently finished watching the anime to this and was that impressed that I instantly wanted the manga as well. So, here I am, writing a review for the manga that I’ve purchased. It’s in perfect quality, amazing illustrations, great plot as expected. After reading this, I now need to buy the second one!! Also, for those of you who have never purchased manga’s before (I write this on all my manga reviews as I was in that position at one time) PLEASE know that you read a manga backwards. So instead of reading from left to right, it’s right to left. That may be a bit confusing but, like me, you’ll definitely get used to it in time!! In fact, I’m more used to the Japanese style than the “normal” way of reading it in my country. Amazing. Yes. Off to get the next one now.

Needless to say I enjoyed this immensely
I first watched this series on Netflix, and I enjoyed it hugely. If anyone is considering reading/watching this, honestly just do it. Its an amazing work of fiction by some incredibly talented individuals, and certainly worth the read. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! I would recommend it to anyone, even me, who previously didn't read manga or watch anime was thoroughly entertained and captivated! -A fan excited to read the other volumes

Very good
I bought this for my 10 year old granddaughter and she was pleased , I would say not to order if your child is young and/or does not like graphic and scary things, such as detailed pictures of odd-scary-looking creatures , She finished it quite fast and is begging to order the second volume
