Need snaps that aren't too hard to get apart for a more delicate project... how difficult are these to unsnap?

The larger snaps are fairly hard to unsnap, I haven't used the smaller ones. I used the 19 mm size on a pillowcase cover I made for an irregular shaped pillow. When I unsnap them, I wedge them open with my nail because they are sewed on by hand and pulling them apart would be too hard on the thread and material. Maybe some of the sew on plastic snaps or velcro tabs would work.
